The characterisation of the large numbers of people - from diverse backgrounds - who exercised their human rights to protest peacefully and to free expression - in relation to the Garvaghy Road - remains highly problematic.
A pause for reflection may be wise.

"Now they are disproportionately targeting Irish language jobs and reducing an already reduced team."
“BBC here will only have two Irish language staff amongst their 650 workforce. Live Irish language output will be decimated as a result of these cuts.”

Just did a live interview on France24 to talk about my book. When I said the word genocide, a producer told the TV anchor to say that “it hadn’t been juridically recognized.” Obviously I refuted him immediately and said we are not going to have this debate 3 years into this genocide. He was taken aback and could hardly finish asking the following question…

I spent almost two weeks on the Garvaghy Road supporting the residents. I spent most of my time on the night watch until 6-7am depending on police activity. I managed to take a lot of photos of the Garvaghy Road at night to show how peaceful and well managed the protest was.
While I expected a lot of abuse from loyalists, I was amazed at the amount of abuse and threats that came from Irish far right "patriots." Instead of supporting the residents the "patriots" sided with the loyalists. I should have expected this as many "patriots" marched and drank with loyalists during the various race riots and protests over the past year. They are absolute scum who contribute nothing to Ireland.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
A huge thank you to the residents of Garvaghy Road for taking me in and making me feel so welcome. So happy you got the peaceful outcome you all wanted.
No going back. 🇮🇪

The last few weeks suggest once again that the good people of our shared island-and well beyond-will stand with marginalised, vulnerable and traumatised communities.
The very definition of: A New Ireland.

NI's double standards are clear.
DUP’s Paul Givan caught lighting an illegal bonfire?
A DUP department buries it with an advisory note.
Michelle O'Neill stands on a road with residents?
The PSNI rushes out interviews under caution.

Odd that families being burned out of their homes in July didn't "chill" unionism.

There is nothing normal about any of this. Negative driving forces intentionally set out to create “culture war” tension. The facts are there to see. There is a tendency here to try to “both sides” everything and apportion equal blame. I won’t be deterred from calling it. Grim.

@GRobinsonDUP on The Nolan Show earlier, while shouting down, @GerryCarrollPBP claimed he “stood on the central reservation while talking to police” at a peaceful protest, blocking a road. in Dundonald.
Will @StephenNolan issue a correction?
That’s the psni finished
NEW: Statement on PSNI letters issued to Sinn Féin representatives and party members
A Sinn Féin spokesperson said:
“Sinn Féin can confirm that a number of representatives and party members have received correspondence from the PSNI in relation to peaceful protests on the Garvaghy Road.
“Sinn Féin have stood with the residents of the Garvaghy Road for the last two weeks in the face of provocation and the threat of an unwanted Orange march through their community.
“Standing up for what is right is always the right thing to do.
“Sinn Féin will continue to stand with the Garvaghy Road residents who should be allowed to live in peace and free from sectarian intimidation.
“Sinn Féin will continue to stand with the Garvaghy Road residents who deserve a future for their children that is free from fear and anxiety previous generations had to endure.
“From right across Ireland and the world, people have stood and spoken with one voice to protect 28 years of peace and to say clearly that they will not be dragged back.
“Because there is no going back. Not now. Not ever.”

🚨🗣️NEW: "This is no longer just about the Garvaghy Road."
👥On the 11th day of the Drumcree stand-off, residents' groups from former parading flashpoints across Northern Ireland have been meeting in Portadown.
The groups say they are concerned about the impact of the current situation at Drumcree on parading agreements in other areas.
Among those present were representatives from the Bogside Residents Association, Short Strand Residents Association and Lower Ormeau Concerned Community.
🎥🎤Linda O’Neill and Breandán Mac Cionnaith of the Garvaghy Road Residents Coalition spoke to reporters in the town this afternoon. Also hearing from Gerard Rice on behalf of Lower Ormeau Concerned Community.

Not a shred of evidence that journalists partook in military activities. Zero
But as Western media starts its due diligence, Apartheid Israel escalates disinformation. The army has even a "legitimization cell" fabricating stories to justify genocide. My next report exposes it all
