And how will digital platforms determine whether someone is under the age of 16? Any age assurance mechanism will introduce privacy risks for all users, with no guarantee that children will be any safer
#BREAKING 🚨 Anthony Albanese has just announced the government will seek to ban teenagers under the age of 16 from social media The announcement confirms the exact age restrictions that will be imposed

I like Justin and think he'll be a good councillor if he wins, but it was me and Louise who took action on the caravans. The notice of motion was already submitted before the age article.

So I finish up as the longest-serving Greens Councillor in Port Phillip’s history, along with a few other things to remember. But I’ll be around if any of my local friends need anything, as always. Love to you all. Tim

But I know that soon I will be able to walk past a new park, or have a conversation with a young game developer who got their break from a grant from Council, and I’ll know that if I hadn’t been here, that might not have happened. That’s a good feeling, I think.

There are other wins (and lots of losses) from my time on Council.

I also had a passion for the impact that Council could have if we partnered with our large and growing local game development industry. This resulted in the Games Action Plan, later being incorporated into the Screen Action Plan, a first for any local government in Australia.

In my second term, I had fewer opportunities for positive change, but I still managed to push Councillors and staff to go further with our Open Space strategy, and I secured $24m in extra funding for new and expanded parks in areas of the city that needed it the most.

Shortly after being elected to Council, I took on an informal portfolio of sustainability, and successfully convinced my fellow Councillors to adopt the Melbourne Renewable Energy Project, develop a new sustainability strategy, and significantly increase our flood mitigation work

Nevertheless, I feel like I can hold my head high, with a long list of achievements, such as bringing in live-streaming of Council meetings, public documentation of Council decisions in a register, and automatic sunsetting of confidentiality on Council decisions.

Obviously I wasn’t ready to go, but electoral politics are a fickle thing. Single-member wards and low turnout can exacerbate that further. The community rarely speaks with one voice, and the jumbled results of this election show that this is no exception.

I know it can sometimes be tough to go up against the kind of money other candidates were spending, but please know that people power does win out in the end.

I want to also thank the amazing volunteers and supporters who worked so hard for so many months to support us in talking to voters about our positive vision.

I’d like to thank the various people from all sides of politics who have reached out to me over the past couple of days to check in, or say nice things about me or my time on Council. I really appreciate that.

Concession Hi all. Those who have been keeping tabs on the primary votes counted this week will no doubt be aware that unfortunately, I will not be returning to Council. I would congratulate the winner, but we actually don't know who that is just yet!

Today The Greens announced our plan to get the government back into the business of building homes through the Public Builder. The public builder is a 100% publicly owned, not-for-profit building company, selling and renting genuinely affordable, well designed homes.

What a weird post. The greens retained one seat, and may retain the other. Did you think the greens had somehow lost both? Why?

Are you claiming that my fixed councillor allowance will somehow change whether rates go up or down? Likes, what is the point you're actually trying to make here?

Whichever one you're currently attacking the greens for "subverting", jeez mate you're the one who made the point, the least you could do is clarify it
