For those mocking my suggestion of trying Razaullah as opener:
Perhaps; they don’t know or have forgotten, Sri Lanka’s greatest opener, Sanath Jayasuriya was a make shift opener too!
Yes, Jayasuriya, who debuted in 1989 kept playing at 6, 7 and even at 8 until he played his first game as opener in 1993-94.
Sanath was considered a bowler who could bat too before that. But, once he got his chance at the top of the order. He became the most feared opening batsman in the world.
He retired after scoring 13430 runs in ODIs alongside 323 wickets!

He is a quality power hitter, but his ability to counter swing and seam movement in the first 10 overs remains a concern. He could be more effective in the lower order, where he can capitalize on his power-hitting ability against an older ball.
