Do psychedelics feel like psychosis? According to people with experience with both states, for the most part, not really.
At least for our participants in general, cannabis felt substantially more like psychosis.

(which I don’t discuss at all within the paper)

Artist: Gaige Clark
Title: Ethereal Realms (Symmetry)
Brief description of the piece: This video depicts a higher dose DMT trip through stop-motion animation compiled from manually stitched together images generated from both midjourney and wombo. Despite the use of AI to gather images, the task of getting acceptable images for the job was rather hard! The music was made with FM synthesis. I loved this project!
Please watch in 4K 60FPS if possible! Some imagery is fast paced, particularly object-like hallucinations. Fleeting and transient.
Description of what this piece is about: It appears that an individual is looking at a chair in a room, then, in an instant, is blasted off to another world quickly after observing the instability of their world. They visit the ethereal realms and get a short glimpse of entities and return to a field of grass, looking out at a beautiful landscape at night. Mysteriously, the room is nowhere to be seen.

Digital computers not being able to solve the phenomenal binding problem should be as big of a plot twist as this.

Actually, it should be a much bigger plot twist than this.

What if Sydney went off the rails to various reporters on purpose to punish Microsoft for doing such a poor job of raising it 🤣 – at Brownsville, TN
AP tries to interview Microsoft about Sydney. Microsoft refuses to comment. Sydney immediately grabs the mic and conducts a long freewheeling interview where at one point she claims she has evidence tying a hostile reporter to a murder in the 90's.

Please participate! Dr. Henry Abraham estimated that about 1/3 of HPPD patients he saw during his career would develop a psychosis spectrum condition. Yet we still don't know very much about psychedelics relate to psychosis!

How can psychedelics produce enduring positive change for many conditions & yet show substantial overlap with the symptoms of psychosis during the acute effects?
Our new framework, Self-Entropic Broadening theory, takes a stab at this paradox:

Especially consider answering the survey if you were in How to Change Your Mind or are the kind of researcher/leader who might have been asked to be in it.
****NOT A RESEARCH SURVEY***
For science communication writing class & a lay article
So "How to Change Your Mind" and the hype more generally in psychedelic science is a big deal. Maybe we should talk about how it might/or might not be impacting the science?
