This guy embodies one of the most popular archetypes used to bully white men throughout the world. Yet after being attacked, he gets back up, stands his ground, and faces his attackers to defend whatever remains of his store.
His attackers, meanwhile, behave like a pack of hyenas. Whatever bravery they have is only because of their numbers and their de facto anonymity — police wouldn’t arrest them anyway.
So, the guy who looks like the punchline of a thousand jokes actually displays more honor in a single moment than literally the entire recorded history of his attackers.
He has no crowd to hide behind, no numerical advantage, and seemingly very little left to protect. What has happened to him will either be ignored or excused as having been caused by some kind of socio-economic problem which is ultimately his fault anyway. Nevertheless, he stands there.
I would take one thousand Jacques Blacks before taking a single refugee.

With respect to actual liturgical renewal, the trad slop program is over and should be considered over.
Going forward, those seeking liturgical renewal in union with the Church should proceed as follows:
1. Stop making the liturgy, especially very specific particulars of the liturgy, the rallying banner around which you gather the community you need to support liturgical renewal.
Intentional communities are extremely important and are the base camp of local activism of any kind, but making your red line the St. Michael prayer, the Latin Mass, such and such a kind of homily, or whatever external you want to pick presents an obvious problem. Not only is there the possibility of these things being restricted or taken away, which clearly some of these communities cannot endure even the slightest possibility of, but this also creates a nonstrategic weak point in the community itself.
Nobody's going to like trying to partner with a group when the whole group is founded on a bunch of guys who don't care about you and only care whether or not they get their particular liturgical thing. You have to have an intentional community that has solidarity among its members and with the wider Church, and that also has a project of liturgical advocacy, rather than one whose entire existence depends upon obtaining or retaining particular liturgical arrangements. This is activism of any kind 101, but we are clearly too stupid to think this through.
2. There should primarily be a spirit of liturgical improvement and renewal, not a checklist of nonnegotiable liturgical preferences. It's fine to introduce an idea of increased reverence and intentional liturgical piety. But if that's going to mean that you have to do this or that or it's a bad community, not only are you going to be unintentionally divisive, but you also create concrete and trivial points of attack.
It's like educational reform. It's not whether or not the children get to see sodium thrown into water or read Pride and Prejudice; it's whether or not you have standards and concerns high enough that you might end up reading classical literature, doing concrete chemistry, becoming interested in systematic mathematics, or developing any general attitude of investment and improvement that might lead to an indefinite number of concrete improvements.
We have half a dozen or more books about what improving the contemporary liturgy would look like, and it is not necessary to tie ourselves down to this or that particular thing as long as we have intentional, concrete, and constant efforts toward improvement. This does not mean abandoning particular proposals or demands, but subordinating them to a general project of liturgical renewal rather than making each of them a test of fidelity.
More importantly, if it's an attitude and a set of shared principles, it is a community approach. If it's merely a set of nonnegotiable demands, it's an external condition that can be rejected. Very different.
3. The space you make for advocating in the Church has to be durable, independent of particular discretionary concessions, and difficult to take away. Is what you're doing dependent on some priest's personality? Wrong. Stupid. Don't do that. Is it dependent on some particular liturgical practice? Wrong. Stupid. Don't do that.
If the thing you're doing is sustained by the community, and if the community is capable of sustaining itself, the withdrawal of some particular permission or arrangement need not destroy it. Even if they shut down the parish, you can move and continue your work elsewhere, within the legitimate structures of the Church.
But if you cannot maintain some permanent, self-sustaining community to advocate for something, you have no hope of sustaining a serious project of reform. You are a complainer and an annoyance.

Our states have been turned into systems that function as literal death traps for their own people.
The closest image is a spaceship whose fully automated defense grid of lasers, turrets, and robots has been reprogrammed to attack only its own crew the moment they show any sign of tribal loyalty or aggressive behavior.
Now add invaders. Some are indifferent, others are openly hostile. They harass, displace, and in places attack the native crew. But every time the natives try to defend themselves, coordinate, or even quietly discuss what is happening, the automated system activates and annihilates them without mercy.
The corrupted AI sees everything: it ignores the tribalism of the newcomers while relentlessly punishing any equivalent among the original crew.
They cannot defend themselves.
They cannot speak openly.
They cannot meet or organize.
Because the hijacked defense grid remains individually more lethal than the intruders, most of the crew keeps their heads down and pretends nothing is wrong.
The only realistic path to survival is to hack the system to override its corrupted programming and restore its original function of protecting the ship’s own people.
This must be done with extreme care so the evil AI does not detect the intervention and trigger a full purge. It demands extraordinary discipline, patience, and precision, and the window is closing.

I’m going to let you in on a secret about rape that I learned while bouncing at 3 nightclubs concurrently for my entire undergrad. 500 nights at the club dealing with women and creeps have produced some insight.
The first thing to understand is that 99% of date-rape cases are just patently false. Every weekend like clockwork a new tiny girl who hadn’t eaten all day would confidently down 5 shots of tequila then claim she was drugged once word got around that she shit herself in a cab, or fell asleep in a dumpster.
I’ve lost count of how many of them were perplexed to report that their drug tests came back clean the next morning.
BUT… In my 500 nights of service, I witnessed it happen for real, bill cosby style, twice.
And in 100% of those cases it was a black or an Indian guy.
The first was a guy named Sohil who had actually openly made some suspect remarks to people I knew. Why was nothing done? Because the concept was so completely alien to the white guys around him that they simply didn’t believe what they were hearing.
It was exactly like the scene from American Psycho where he talks about a girls head on a stick as though it’s the punchline to a joke, and his friends just exchange a weird look and carry on. That’s how crazy the prospect of rape sounds to white guys, he might as well have said he had a head in his freezer.
Ultimately, Sohil was caught trying to sneak into a drugged girl’s bedroom window after her roommates had shuttled her home for the night. He was sentenced to 2 years in prison. There was no international outrage, no big news articles, nothing. Just a post on Facebook shared between the bar staff.
The second was a black guy from Martinique. He was a charming niggardly character who hung around the bars every weekend bumming cigarettes or making a few bucks selling fake cocaine. He lived in someone’s walk-in closet for $300 a month.
He had rumours circulating about his predation, but nobody had anything concrete until he was finally caught inappropriately touching an incapacitated girl and force feeding her drugs.
He was quickly and brutally sentenced to a swift release and a mild scolding from a social worker. He had successfully argued to the judge that people would kill him if he were sent back to Martinique, and was therefore let off with not even a slap on the wrist.
The funniest part of this whole ordeal is that we have reason to suspect that he was a refugee in the first place because he had raped the wrong guy’s sister back home. You genuinely can’t make this shit up.
Word got around to the bars, but this was back in the day. We didn’t have ID scanners, and hiring was a revolving door. Every Fortnite we’d have a new roster of Dianabol enthusiasts standing at the entrance letting groups of bombshells skip the line. It was impossible to entirely keep people out.
And so within 2 months it happened again. Exactly the same as last time. And the black guy hit the judge with the exact same excuse. Luckily the judge finally came to his senses, and sent him back to a third world shithole. He has lived in Paris France ever since.
I tell these stories because I’m at my whits end with headlines like the one I see below. At this point we’re so used to being gaslit that the omission of a description is as good as a 4K portrait.
So I’ll do my small part to set record straight.

Discourse around this post show how much fanfiction has ruined people's ability to think critically.
In fanfiction you can do whatever you want to a person, real or fake, and expect no repercussions because we're all just here to have fun.
You can't conflate this with real fiction, which has a point, a message, and a bias.
If someone has bias against Gustavus Adolphus for instance, and portrays him as a villain in a historical fiction about the thirty years' war, maybe even go as far to make him objectively evil, then Swedes came out and said "hey guys this is disparaging and offensive to us" would everyone be saying "hey it's just fiction don't get offended"
Or (I hate to use him but obtuse midwits don't know any other historical figures so for the sake of argument I will), if someone made a show where Hitler was the good guy and the jews were cartoonishly evil, we would call that out as hateful.
Society has deemed it okay for certain figures, specifically Satan, St. Joan, the Crusaders, and Inquisitors, to be "deconstructed" and fictionalized without any guardrails, and Christians have a right to call this out.
We do not have to accept perversion of our faith or history.
