So when I got an invitation, I was first surprised, but I also found that it's a great opportunity for the LGBT movement to engage with the community, which has generally not been part of the dialogue... Since my childhood, I have never been to any of the shakhas... On top of it, my own LGBT community did not portray any kind of positive or welcoming narrative of the Sangh Parivar. It was quite different than what I was expecting. What I discovered once I met people within the Sangh Parivar and larger ecosystem is that they are quite open to hearing new ideas and to dialogue..."
