Double edged sword. Holders of low interest treasuries had huge mark to market losses. Nearly brought down the banking system when the major banks were left holding long term low yield treasuries when interest rates rose. FED had to juice the system to buy those low yielding bonds so banks didn't go under. There's only one solution and that's for Congress to start pruning the deficit.
