Pibank has retaken the top spot as the highest-rate savings account (non-promo rate, directly from an FDIC-insured bank and a low min balance.) Pibank increased its savings account rate by 15 bps to 4.40% APY. This is its second rate increase since the Fed’s Sep 16th rate hike (On Sep 30th, it increased its rate by 15 bps.)
For much of 2025 and 2026, the Pibank savings account was a rate leader with a 4.60% APY. Its peak APY was 5.50% APY when it launched in Aug 2024.
I reviewed Pibank savings and the parent bank, Intercredit Bank, in this February thread:

We are disappointed to see @VaroBank reduce their high yield savings interest rate today. This was the last HYSA paying 5.0 APY or higher.
Great analysis of the break-even point for 401k contributions with the tax changes for 2026!
💰 For years, the conventional wisdom has been simple: contribute as much as possible to your 401(k). But a recent analysis highlights why high-income earners with large retirement balances may need a more nuanced strategy.
