Ballou HS is one of 20 DCPS schools with Mental Health Ambassador programs. This year, Ballou's "Knights Minds Matter" club created a student-led peace room within the library — a place where they can share their struggles, resources, and coping skills. 💙

Libraries are the pillar of democracy because we provide free and open access to information but also a place for civic engagement and dialogue.

Books, murals, careers, and wellness! These are just a few snapshots of the great things that took place at our schools this week.
As a reminder, there is no school for students next week on March 9 & 10 due to Parent Teacher Conferences + Professional Development for staff.

On a day for the history books, @TheAmandaGorman delivered a poem that more than met the moment. Young people like her are proof that "there is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it; if only we're brave enough to be it."
