ALT This June, the American Library Association and libraries nationwide will celebrate Rainbow Book Month to highlight the authors and writings that reflect the lives and experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community. At a time when books by and about LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals are under siege and library workers are facing threats and harassment for serving these communities, Rainbow Book Month has never been more important. Libraries planning celebrations will find resources from ALA’s Rainbow Round Table to support important related celebrations and events such as book clubs, author events, and other activities that highlight LGBTQIA+ authors, books, and resources. If your library is experiencing challenges to materials and programs serving the LGBTQIA+ community, please contact the ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom to report censorship and receive resources and free confidential support. Read with pride, in all of its colors. Illustration of book shelf with books of every color.
