Po Mszy żałobnej w Londynie, w której mieliśmy zaszczyt uczestniczyć, odbyły się wzruszające uroczystości pogrzebowe Kazimiery Janoty-Bzowskiej w kościele św. Katarzyny w Warszawie. Pani Kazia została pożegnana z udziałem asysty wojskowej. Zapamiętamy Ją jako osobę niezwykle serdeczną i głęboko zaangażowaną w życie Polonii. O swoich przeżyciach mówiła niewiele, a przecież przeszła piekło niemieckiej pracy przymusowej podczas II wojny światowej. Po wojnie poświęciła się pielęgnowaniu pamięci o towarzyszach broni, pełniąc funkcję redaktorki „Gońca Karpackiego” oraz sekretarza Koła 3. Dywizji Strzelców Karpackich w Wielkiej Brytanii. W Senacie RP w Warszawie odbyła się uroczysta inauguracja 9. Światowego Forum Mediów Polonijnych. Artur Kozłowski, dyrektor Biura Polonijnego Senatu RP, powitał dziennikarzy reprezentujących media polonijne z 23 krajów świata. Forum otworzyła Teresa Sygnarek, prezes Stowarzyszenia. Głos zabrali również Rafał Perl, zastępca dyrektora Departamentu Współpracy z Polonią i Polakami za Granicą w MSZ, Marek Błoński, dyrektor generalny PAP, oraz Tomasz Różniak, prezes Zarządu Krajowego Stowarzyszenia „Wspólnota Polska”. Dalsza część Forum odbyła się w siedzibie PAP, gdzie dziennikarze wzięli udział w fascynującym panelu dyskusyjnym pt. „Jerzy Giedroyć – dziennikarstwo między wolnością a odpowiedzialnością za słowo”. Portal British Poles jest członkiem - założycielem Światowego Stowarzyszenia Mediów Polonijnych.

“Yalta Treaty is a synonym of betrayal. It was a total failure of the West to stand up for Poland,” said Prit Buttar, author of the book “Warsaw: City at War”, written with his daughter Lottie Taylor. The authors discussed Polish bravery and Poland’s solitary struggle during WW2 at the Chelsea History Festival at the National Army Museum. During the discussion, Buttar asked the audience who had been to Warsaw. Most of the British audience raised their hands, a sign of the strong interest in the history of our country.

"I will tell you the story of one of the most daring and important military operations of WW2, known as 'Operation Most III', which remains vastly underrated,” said historian Guy Walters at the Chelsea History Festival at the National Army Museum in London. He discussed how the extraordinary courage of the Polish resistance enabled the Allies to uncover the secrets of the deadly German V-2 rocket and helped change the course of the war. His book, "Stealing Hitler’s Rocket", was published four months ago.

"In 1920, Poland, having only recently regained independence, stopped the advance of Soviet Russia’s armies. That victory preserved our freedom and helped shape Europe’s future.
