Retail: Farm crests, then do a World Quest for a Spark, then sim all the items you could craft with the Spark, then figure out which item wins the sim, then craft that item with the Spark, then use your crests on it, then do M+, then get gear from M+, then before upgrading the M+ gear you have to sim it against the gear you already crafted to make sure you’re not wasting crests, then upgrade the thing the sim told you to upgrade, then do raid, then kill three bosses, then the group disbands, then spend 20 minutes finding another raid, then kill two more bosses, then loot drops, then ask “do I even need this?”, then sim it, then discover yes actually you do need it, then upgrade it, then realize you don’t have enough crests to upgrade it, then go back to M+ to farm crests, then get another item from M+, then sim that item because obviously you can’t just equip it, then realize it’s a 0.4% upgrade but only if upgraded, then realize upgrading it costs crests, then realize you spent your crests on the raid item, then do more M+, then get more crests, then upgrade the item, then get a better item from your vault the next day, then sim that, then realize everything you just did was pointless.
