Celebrating Five Years of SAIA ✨
Back in July 2021, a conversation between our co-founders sparked a movement 💡, and SAIA was founded as the first patient-clinician collaboratively led organization in the IBD space.
Together, we've amplified the voices of the South Asian IBD community, published landmark research 🔬, delivered educational webinars 💻, brought global experts together through symposia and Clinical Research Roundtables at DDW 🩺, and created spaces for connection, culture and celebration through our ACG receptions. 🥂
As our community grew, so did our vision. We heard from patients, caregivers and clinicians across diverse communities who shared similar experiences. This inspired us to expand our mission beyond South Asian IBD to Culture & GI, making our work more inclusive while staying true to the values we were built on. 🙌🏻🙌🏽🙌🏾
None of this would have been possible without our patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, partners, volunteers and supporters 👥. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us grow every step of the way.
Five years on, we're just getting started! Here's to creating a future where culturally sensitive GI care is the standard, not the exception. ❤️
