So now fishing is bad just because Brown people are the ones doing it to survive? You bad faith conservatives make me sick.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video and local reports show immigrants dragging a live baby bottlenose dolphin ashore in Ceuta and beating it to death with a stick, not fishing. This violates Spanish law strictly protecting cetaceans from capture or harm.

Hey @liamstantonchi, I noticed you dropped out and endorsed Alexi Giannoulias.
What happened to “More career politicians and people beholden to special interests aren’t gonna fix it”?
Everyone’s got new ideas to rejuvenate the city from career politicians until the payout hits.
Chicago is drifting.
More career politicians and people beholden to special interests aren’t gonna fix it. I’m not a politician. I’m a lifelong Chicagoan. I’m a builder and a fixer.
It’s time for new leadership focused on growth, affordability, and safety.
Chicago is too good of an opportunity to waste.

🚨 CFR INVESTIGATES: SOCIALISM 2026 COMES TO CHICAGO — AND HASAN PIKER IS COMING WITH IT
CHICAGO FLIPS RED | SEPTEMBER 2026
This weekend, Socialism 2026 comes to Chicago.
And one of its featured speakers is Hasan Piker — HasanAbi, one of the most influential socialist political streamers in America.
Why should Chicago voters care?
Because this story is bigger than one conference.
🔴 2019 WAS A TURNING POINT IN CHICAGO
In Chicago’s 2019 municipal election, six Democratic Socialists of America members won seats on the 50-member City Council, creating a significant socialist bloc inside Chicago government.
Seven years later, the movement isn’t hiding its ambitions.
Piker himself has discussed the Chicago City Council as an opportunity for DSA candidates to gain additional political power.
🔴 THEN THERE’S MAYOR BRANDON JOHNSON
This isn’t some political personality with no connection to Chicago leadership.
Mayor Brandon Johnson has appeared with Piker multiple times in 2026.
Earlier this year, Johnson joined Piker on Chicago’s West Side, walking through Austin while discussing politics, housing and organizing.
Now Piker is returning to Chicago for a conference dedicated explicitly to socialist politics and organizing.
🔴 AND YES — THIS IS THE SAME HASAN PIKER WHO SAID:
“America deserved 9/11, dude.”
Piker made that statement during a 2019 livestream.
For accuracy: he later said America did NOT literally deserve the terrorist attacks, apologized for the language and explained that he was attempting to criticize U.S. foreign policy.
But he said it.
Nearly 3,000 people were murdered on September 11, 2001.
And Chicago voters have every right to ask why their mayor is politically engaging with someone who made a statement like that.
🇺🇸 CFR’S POSITION IS SIMPLE:
Socialists, communists and progressives have the constitutional right to organize, speak and run for office.
And WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE THEIR POLICIES OUT OF OFFICE.
Chicagoans should know who is organizing, who is funding political movements, who our elected officials are aligning themselves with — and what those movements intend to do with governmental power.
The question heading into 2027 isn’t whether socialism has a presence in Chicago politics.
It does.
The question is:
HOW MUCH MORE POWER DOES THE MOVEMENT WANT — AND WILL CHICAGO VOTERS GIVE IT TO THEM?
👀 CFR IS WATCHING.

As Chicago City Clerk, Mendoza cut overtime over 70%, reduced payroll over 10%, zeroed overtime, and returned funds to the city every year. As Illinois Comptroller, she cut her office budget 10% from her predecessor, held it at the reduced level for years (lowest GRF requests in decades), and returned unused appropriations annually, saving millions while managing heavier workloads during crises.

Chicago has all of the makings to be a world-class city again.
Chicagoans just need to ask themselves if they’re willing to fall for bread and circuses again.
There is one candidate with the demonstrated bona fides at the executive, legislative, and municipal level that can make this happen.
She already did.
She went straight to our creditors. She worked with them in good faith, asked how we could improve our fiscal footing, and she made it happen.
When the house is on fire I’m not looking for someone to tell me it’s not.
I’m looking for someone who knows how to kick the door down and say this is how you get out.
Susana Mendoza is the only candidate with the competence and courage to lead us out of the next great fire(sale).

Q: What will it take from your admin and city council for the next budget to be less contentious?
Johnson: “For them to be in agreement with me.”

We all know exactly how this plays out.
1. Giannoulias and Mendoza will go to a runoff
2. Mendoza will be labeled racist, transphobic, all the names etc… by progressives
3. Giannoulias wins in a landslide.
Bookmark this and come back after the election, I’ll be waiting.
Remember when trump won and all of the worst people you know thought that meant they had to release a press statement on facebook? 😂😂😂😂

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is threatening to layoff 1000 police officers. Gangbangers already outnumbered police officers but more than 10 to 1. Everything is upside down, with these Socialist mayors and nepo-baby billionaire governors.
I crack up when democrat candidates running for office complain about “affordability” in Illinois. We’ve had a Dem supermajority and a Dem governor for two decades, with the exception of one Republican Governor from 2015-2019, who was stonewalled by the Dem supermajority for four years. The Dems are 100% blame about IL “affordability.”

Muslim Somalis flood into Ohio by the thousands.
They elect one of their own to office and build one of the biggest mosques in America.
That mosque? Tied to SIX terrorism cases.
At what point does this stop being a “coincidence”?
Islam is simply not compatible with the West.

Who would have guessed, migrant Tren De Aragua gang members, active in Chicago?
Thank everyone involved in giving them sanctuary here.
Three Venezuelan gang members kidnapped a man from a Chicago park, beat him to death, then called his mom to let her know where to find his body, federal officials said today.
One of them was AWOL from electronic monitoring at the time of the murder.
