Over at @acitythatworks: Only about a third of Chicago homicides end in an arrest and prosecution. But for non-fatal shootings, those numbers are even worse: on average, we prosecute just 9% of non-fatal shootings.

Excellence is amplified by the people around you. It’s my honor to receive @liamstantonchi’s endorsement for Mayor of Chicago.
I trust that together we can make our best days possible. Here’s to uniting for the city!
#Chicago
It doesn’t get more Chicago than @JPGraziano and @ChiPartyAunt. Two ah da best our city has to offer
Chicago deserves city government that gets things done faster and is more accountable to the people it serves.
We should empower aldermen to fight for their neighborhoods without letting one ward stop progress for the entire city.
It’s time to ask whether our government is built for the Chicago of today.
It would be easy to pile on - but honestly at this point I hope to see @ChicagosMayor start engaging with any and all resources in the city to ensure he can get some people
in place quickly and put together some semblance of a budget. This is not good for Chicagoans.

To give you a sense of how heavy a lift it would be for this $150 million CPS plan to happen - 3/5ths of the general assembly would either have to vote for a CPS-only bill, or vote for about $700million+ in supplemental funding for all school districts, out of fairness.
Gov Pritzker on the Chicago Board of Education passing a CPS budget that assumes $150 million in more money from the state, after Speaker Welch vowed to CTU to find $$. "The money simply doesn't exist right now. Apparently Speaker Welch has a plan. I look forward to seeing it."
This is insane. We need people who can make hard decisions based in reality. Appeasing today makes the problem worse tomorrow. School board election can’t come soon enough.
BREAKING: The Chicago Board of Education votes to approve an amended budget plan that closes a $732 million gap partially by relying on $150 million in additional future funding from the state, over the objections of the CPS CEO who warned it would not be a balanced budget, and that it could lead to midyear cuts and layoffs.
