Most fatal fires happen at night, when families are asleep. A working smoke alarm is your wake-up call.
⏰ Test your alarms now—it could save your life.

In my role as a Deputy Fire Marshal of Fire Investigation Services, I unfortunately see the aftermath when smoke alarms aren't present.
On September 28th, let's change that narrative. Join me for "Test Your Smoke Alarm Day" and ensure your alarms are working #SavedbytheBeep

Join us @ONFireMarshal on May 22, 2024, for the Charged for LiFE symposium. Lithium-ion batteries pose a growing challenge to the fire service. It's crucial that we find ways to keep Ontario safe from these fires. Let's meet this challenge head-on together.

I am so deeply saddened to hear this. My sincere condolences to Chief Laing’s family and CYFS family. Stay strong and look after one another.
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our esteemed Fire Chief, Ian Laing, who dedicated an incredible 48 years of his life to the Fire Service, leaving an incredible mark on the communities he served.

You may not notice a fire starting when you are asleep without a working smoke alarm.
Test your smoke alarms and write a home escape plan so that you are prepared to escape safely in the event of a fire, even in the middle of the night.

My Brother made it to Ottawa!!! He rode in memory of our Father Marty Costoff, who was a Captain with the Toronto Fire Service for 33 years. He passed away from a LODD in 2021 and his name was added to the memorial wall in Ottawa in 2022. #CanadianFallenFirefighters #LODD
