Congratulations to this week’s PRIDE Shout Out recipients!!! @BrunswickCSD
Every voice deserves to be heard! During AAC Awareness Month, we celebrate the many ways students communicate. Let’s continue to create inclusive spaces where every student has a voice, feels valued, and has the opportunity to connect with others. Every voice matters!

THANK YOU to everyone who participated and supported the 6th annual Trike & Bike on Friday! Our community showed up in a BIG way: 392 riders and corporate sponsors raised $89,049! Pediatric cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among children and receives a disproportionately small share of cancer research funding relative to its severity and impact. Our students helped change that, one lap at a time.
A huge shoutout to @BCSDMemorial, whose 58-member team raised $8,141, the top school team total! Congratulations to @BCSDCrestview student Stella Wambsgans, who was the top BCSD fundraiser!
The event welcomed some special guests to the pre-ride ceremony:
⭐ Brunswick Fire Chief Greg Glauner, who helped students understand the significance of riding on Sept. 11
⭐ Gabrielle Gearhart, @BCSDBrunswickHS graduate and cancer survivor who battled the disease as a student in 2015
⭐ Dr. Richa Sharma, @ClevelandClinic pediatric hematologist-oncologist whose lab research has been funded by Trike and Bike proceeds
None of this would be possible without founder and Brunswick City Manager Carl DeForest. He has poured years of hard work and heart into building this event from the ground up. He was inspired by Collin Nemet, a BCSD student who lost his battle with brain cancer in 2021, just short of his 12th birthday. After meeting Collin and his family, Carl committed himself to bringing this event to life in our community, and it has now raised more than $327,000 for pediatric cancer research. Thank you, Carl!
Thank you to our students, families, and staff who got behind this cause! This is what makes Brunswick special. We can't wait to ride again next year! For more information, check out @clevelanddotcom. #BrunswickPRIDE #JourneyOfABlueDevil

In honor of Patriot Day, our 5th graders learned about Welles Crowther, known as “The Man in the Red Bandana.” Welles helped others escape the South Tower on September 11th. He was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. @BrunswickCSD

Thank you to all the students who have already registered for the Trike & Bike event! Inspired by Brunswick City School District student Collin Nemet’s brave battle with cancer, Brunswick City Manager Carl DeForest established this event to support cancer research and honor Collin’s story. Over the past five years, Trike & Bike has raised more than $237,000.
In addition to fundraising, the event teaches students that they can positively impact their community while having fun. This year’s event will be held on Friday, September 11, at 5:00 p.m. at Brunswick Auto Mart Stadium. For registration information, please click the link below:

💙💙💙 CONGRATULATIONS Mrs. Kraly!!! 💙💙💙
Our staff is earning statewide recognition! Congratulations to @BCSDHuntington Art Educator Erin Kraly, who has been inducted as a Distinguished Fellow of the Ohio Art Education Association (OAEA) — one of the highest lifetime honors an art educator can receive in Ohio.
This prestigious recognition is awarded to educators who have made long‑term, exceptional contributions to art education at the local, regional, state, and national levels. Only a small number of educators statewide are selected each year.
Erin’s dedication, creativity, and leadership have inspired countless young artists! Her impact reaches far beyond the classroom, and this honor reflects her outstanding commitment to students, colleagues, and the arts community.
Please join us in celebrating Erin Kraly on this INCREDIBLE achievement! #BrunswickPRIDE #JourneyOfABlueDevil
