The lie that the LNP are better at running the economy than the ALP has been repeated now for generations. Tell the same lie enough and people will believe it. Especially under the current corrupt LNP crop, the economy is barely treading water while mates and donors make bank.
Replying to @TheKouk
I think the whole “LNP are better economic managers” is total BS, anybody who still believes this needs to stop reading newspapers and watching TV news. However the whole concept needs a re-think. This thread relates to the US, but relevant here also.

Justice with accountability and consequences. Make sure anyone would be scared shitless to do this to us ever again.

Also: I WANT OUR FUCKING MONEY BACK. These kleptocrats have stolen untold billions from us, likely fucking trillions. Indictments, prosecutions, asset recovery, clawback. Get it fucking going NOW. Treat yesterday like the mandate it was. Not retribution, justice.

Tom Hiddleston says happiness is overrated and spending your life chasing it can actually make you unhappy
"Happiness is overrated. Meaning is underrated. Happiness is like a sunrise or a sunset. Bear with me"
"You're there. It's lovely. You're present with it. The sun's rising or the sun is setting. It's perfect. After 15 minutes, the moment is over and it's gone. Trying to sustain it is impossible because it's over"
"And a life spent chasing the permanence of that feeling will make you unhappy because you can't hold on to it. The moment you try to hold on to it, it slips through your fingers and is lost"
"Meaning is a structure that only you create in your own life, an architecture with your own particular spiritual fingerprint, whereby if you're going through a hard time, if you're going through challenge, struggle, obstacles, suffering or pain, only you know why you're going through it"
"You might know, this is hard now. I'm doing it for my kids. I'm doing it for my mom. I'm doing it for my future"
"And then it makes enduring the hard times bearable because you know what it means"
"And meaning - this is the take - meaning yields joy. Joy is deeper than happiness"

Eventually the media training fails, the talking points dry up, and someone asks how you’ll fix Labor’s spending by spending even more.
Jess Wilson hoped nobody would notice before the election.

Not only did Disney pay $0 in federal income taxes last year due to Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” it got a $1.4 billion tax refund after making $12.4 billion in profits.
“Corporation will create jobs if they get tax breaks” is a Big Lie. It never trickles down. Ever.
Disney is moving toward thousands of job cuts with the entertainment giant asking some managers to target 20% in annual cost savings, according to people familiar with the matter. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Bill Gates paid for the rights to seven physics lectures from 1964 so that anyone on Earth could watch them for free, and almost nobody has pressed play.
They were given by Richard Feynman.
In November 1964 Feynman gave Cornell's Messenger Lectures. He planned six lectures for a general audience, then added a seventh. The series was called The Character of Physical Law. The BBC filmed it.
A year later he won the Nobel Prize.
The films went around colleges for years, and then disappeared from circulation in the 1980s.
Gates had watched them at Harvard. He later said he "fell in love" with them. He has reportedly told people that if he'd seen them earlier, he might have become a physicist instead of starting a software company.
In 2009 he paid privately for the rights, from the Feynman estate, the BBC and Cornell. He never said how much. Microsoft Research put them online for free and called it Project Tuva, after the tiny republic in Central Asia that Feynman spent his last years trying to visit and never reached.
When the BBC license ran out in 2021, Gates renewed it.
Here's what's inside:
> The Law of Gravitation
> The Relation of Mathematics and Physics
> The Great Conservation Principles
> Symmetry in Physical Law
> The Distinction of Past and Future
> Probability and Uncertainty
> Seeking New Laws
The last one has the line every science teacher quotes. If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.
Gates said his 10-year-old son could follow them.
They're still free today on Caltech's Feynman Lectures website.
One of the richest people alive paid to make the best physics teacher of the century free.
The only thing left to pay is about seven hours.
Which would you watch first: gravity, or why time only moves forward?

I’d like to mention Mrs Thatcher warning about man-made climate change being a threat as big as nuclear war, not because I’m a fan of Mrs Thatcher, I can’t stand her, but I think it’s important that people on the right understand that climate change is not a left-wing conspiracy even though the fossil fuel propaganda says exactly that

France is showing the world what real accountability looks like. Paris prosecutors have launched a major criminal investigation into Elon Musk’s X, raided its Paris offices and summoned Musk and former CEO Linda Yaccarino for questioning.
The allegations are staggering, political manipulation through algorithms, child sexual abuse material, sexually explicit deepfakes generated by Grok without consent, Holocaust denial, unlawful data extraction and election interference.
While Musk parades around pretending to be a defender of free speech, his platform faces allegations involving the exploitation of children, the sexual abuse of women through AI-generated imagery, the manipulation of political discourse and threats to democratic elections.
Bravo, France! This is what standing up to billionaire arrogance looks like. Democracy is not a billionaire's personal playground, social media platforms are not above the law, and Elon Musk does not get to buy himself immunity from accountability. France is making it clear that the rule of law still matters, and the rest of the democratic world should be paying attention.
