It took a pandemic for the Government to begin to fund aged and disability care more adequately. Of course they could have done this before, but they were obsessed a pointless surplus in an underemployed economy. Do we need another pandemic to fund climate policy and end poverty?

In all honesty, as the 50.year-old I am, Jordan Shanks' approach does jar me at times. But he speaks truth, intelligently, with wit, which engages people such as my intelligent 16 year-old son, part of a demographic regular media aren't reaching. I applaud this.

I don't have time to make this detailed, but here's a little thread about the world's first major politically-charged blackout that was blamed on renewables, in South Australia, in 2016............

Capitalism cultists talk about earning money like you can just dig it up in your backyard or something. "If you have no money just go earn some!", like we're hunter-gatherers in an abundant forest instead of powerless subjects in an economic system rigged by and for the wealthy.

Capitalist pathology: instead of providing decent jobs and incomes for the people in your community, provide instead cheap electrified doghouses for the poor.
In capitalism, some will praise those who think like that.

Every day, I tweet about economic injustice. Every day, random people hop in my mentions to do free PR for billionaires, hoping they will also be rich one day.
It's so sad to me that people will protect a system that has abused them. And it's what the people at the top count on.

Stop calling Andrew Forrest "Twiggy"
He is not your mate.
He's a billionaire iron ore tycoon who has infiltrated the Australian democracy.
10 years ago he and Gina subverted the mining tax and they've been subverting our democratic process ever since.

Tell me the difference between congress members owning stock then having the power to regulate the stock market and sports referees betting on games then having the power to dictate how that game turns out? Interesting that only one is illegal

The speed in which Congress will probably pass legislation to prevent something like this GameStop thing from happening again will show you the difference between “immediate” for Wall St and “immediate” for people waiting on those $2k checks

I’m only 21 years old and somehow capitalism has produced two “once in a lifetime“ economic implosions in my lifetime. Maybe capitalism itself is the problem.

FYI... The powers that be KNOW taxes do NOT fund Fed spending & they STILL use austerity to discipline the working class. Isn't it sad that it's the illiteracy of the proletariat that they depend on to keep the taxes fund spending myth alive? Doesn't that just sicken you? #MMT
