Mumbai / New York, October 14, 2026: Reliance Foundation and The Estée Lauder Companies Charitable Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Estée Lauder Companies, have announced the launch of a multi-year partnership that aims to empower one million girls and young women across India.
The programme is designed for girls and young women from 14 to 20 years of age, across both rural and urban communities with focus on building life skills and confidence. It will begin in the Indian states of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, with plans to expand to other parts of the country in the future. The initiative will help young women and girls strengthen digital and financial literacy, and inform them about future pathways such as educational courses, trainings and livelihoods, so that they may make informed choices about the next stage of their lives.
Speaking on the partnership, Ms Isha Ambani, Director, Reliance Foundation, said, “I believe every girl should have the confidence to dream big, the courage to lead, and the opportunity to fulfil her aspirations. Pandala Sandhaya Rakesh, an assistant engineer in the Madannapet section under the Santosh Nagar sub-division, demanded the amount from a complainant for approving six new electricity meters in place of old, missing meters.

A diner has alleged that he found a human tooth in a plate of mutton mandi at The Joint Al Mandi in Madhapur, even as the restaurant’s owner dismissed his complaint and told him to approach any authority he wished.
Shyam Prasad said he and a friend, who had come to Madhapur for work at an institute, went to the restaurant for lunch in the afternoon and ordered a mutton juicy mandi. Midway through the meal, he said, they spotted a small, decayed tooth in the food.
When they raised the matter with the staff, Prasad said, they were first told it was a mutton bone. He said the two men refused to accept this and insisted the restaurant check it. After examining it, the staff reportedly admitted that it was a human tooth, apologised and offered a complimentary item before asking them to leave.
Food Safety officials later clarified that it was a tooth cap and served a notice to the restaurant.

The Shiva Temple at Konch, dedicated to Konchesvara Mahadeva, dates back to the 4th–8th century CE.
The temple consists only of the sanctum, though it is believed to originally have a pillared hall (mandapa) in front, as several granite pillars and pilasters were found lying in the debris outside. The sanctum houses a Shiva Linga, and its inner walls contain niches. The roof is designed as a tunnel vault formed by arches meeting at the crown in a ridge. It has been built using special bricks placed edge to edge. Three different sizes of bricks were used in its construction.
Above the vaulted roof is an upper chamber inside the tower, with a rectangular entrance topped by a triangular head. Externally, the tower is curvilinear, with each wall divided into seven faces. Numerous sculptures depicting Vishnu, Shiva, Hara-Gauri, Ganesha, Surya, and various incarnations of Vishnu were also found within the temple premises.

Moinabad Town planning officer caught taking ₹75,000 bribe
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on September 30 caught Moinabad Municipality Town Planning Officer Gundu Vani while she allegedly demanded and accepted a ₹75,000 bribe from a complainant through Senior Assistant Yelamoni Sudarshan, according to ACB.
The ACB said Sudarshan, a former Panchayat Secretary of Moinabad gram panchayat who is currently working on deputation as a senior assistant in Moinabad Municipality, acted as an intermediary in the transaction.
Officer allegedly sought bribe over construction action
According to the ACB, the bribe was sought in return for not taking coercive action against the complainant's construction by treating it as an illegal structure.
The ₹75,000 was recovered from Sudarshan's possession at Vani's instance, the ACB said.
The bureau said both accused officers had improperly and dishonestly performed their duties to obtain an undue advantage.
Two accused produced before special ACB court
Vani and Sudarshan were produced before the I Additional Special Judge for Special Police Establishment and Anti-Corruption Bureau cases at Nampally for judicial remand, the press note said.
The case is under investigation. The ACB withheld the complainant's details for security reasons.
The ACB said members of the public can report demands for bribes by public servants through its toll-free number 1064.
It also listed its WhatsApp number as 9440446106 and said it can be contacted through social media platforms including Facebook and X.
