I spent the summer working on a HyperSpectral Image Processing Software! The validation phase of it relied heavily on QGIS’s spectrum analysis plugin, but it didn’t quite click for me. So, I built my own tool in Python. (1/2)
Really miss this watch, got lost somewhere over the years. So wish @timex @Timex_India could bring this variant back.

Scientists discover faster rotation in the Sun’s upper atmosphere
➤ The atmosphere whirling around the Sun spins at a much faster rate than the visible surface of the Sun and the rotation speed increase with height above the Sun's surface, according to a new study that challenges the expectations of classical physics.
➤ Beyond improving our understanding of the Sun, these findings will help refine models of solar activity and space weather, which can affect satellites, communication systems, navigation networks, and power infrastructure on Earth.

ALT The Sun as seen from (left) space using the Solar Dynamic Observatory and (right) ground using Nobeyama Radioheliograph. (Bottom Left Panel) The increasing trend in the rotation rate of the equator of the Sun at different heights above the solar surface can be seen when compared to sunspots, which are usually observed at the solar surface. (Bottom Right Panel) Red coloured dotted line shows the possible slowing down of the rotation rate with increased number of sunspots.

India conducts maiden flight-test of ‘Kusha’ Long Range Surface-to-Air Missile
Incredible feat from Skyroot!!
ORBIT ACHIEVED. 🚀
Vikram-1 Test Flight-1 has reached orbit. India's first privately developed orbital rocket has completed its final burn and injected its payloads into a ~450 km orbit, making India the third country in the world with private orbital launch capability.
History is made. 🇮🇳

There's diversification, then there is this🫡
Raymond is investing ₹1,000 crore to diversify into aerospace and auto components, targeting global OEMs. With new units in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, the group aims to reduce dependence on textiles and tap India’s manufacturing push.

Astra have had quite a journey, read about it a couple of weeks back, in Ashley Vance’s book. Its quite surprising they are still active, would be interesting to see how it goes this time.
If anything, Chris Kemp feels very much in line with how he came across in the book.
Don't know where this stupidity comes from, not just from one place but wherever this comes from, its just divisive. No State can do everything on its own, this narrative of State A doing something for State B is useless, the nation exists as one, some resources here some there.
In Tamil Nadu: The state government couldn’t fund Chennai Metro Phase II due to lack of resources, so the Centre stepped in with nearly 65% of the cost (~₹41,000 crore) to get it built.
In Karnataka: The Bangalore Suburban Rail (K-RIDE) is stuck in endless delays because of land acquisition issues. L&T, the contractor awarded the construction, walked away after facing massive losses due to delays, and is now demanding over ₹650 crore in compensation.
In Telangana: Hyderabad Metro, 90% funded by L&T, is on the verge of collapse. L&T is preparing to exit operations due to unsustainable losses, largely caused by the government’s policy of free bus rides affecting metro ridership.
In Maharashtra: Most metro projects came to a grinding halt thanks to political roadblocks imposed by the previous government.
But guess who the average South Indian blames for all this? “Shithole UP”
UP is busy building multiple metro projects on its own, with mere support from the Centre. Yet somehow, the narrative is that the South is funding metros in India’s 3rd largest GDP state.
Look closer, and you’ll see where the real problem lies :)
