Jesus wept. Several people in my extended family (living in Derry City and abroad) have taken their own lives, all of them men. McClean is fast falling off a cliff.
Now the club has spoken: xitter.cf/derrycityfc/status/211….
Derry City FC notes the comments regarding mental health made by James McClean and published in yesterday’s Sunday Independent.
The Club wishes to make clear that these views do not reflect our core values or beliefs.
The Club places the highest priority on the mental health and wellbeing of our players, staff and the wider Derry City community.
derrycityfc.net/2026/10/stat…
Supported by our in-house psychologist, the Club actively encourages anyone facing mental health challenges to speak openly, seek support and know they never have to face such challenges alone.
The Club has accepted an invitation to meet with Men’s Action Network (MAN) to discuss these issues.
Journalists like @GAHargan write for this newspaper. We really need a portal where we pay for journalist's content rather than the newspaper itself. I would never, ever buy this newspaper, but I'd pay for content from Hargan (and others, at home and abroad).
1/ This @BelTel article is Belfast-centricism incarnate. 30 "most missed NI restaurants" - with 21 in Belfast, & rest in Unionist hangouts Bangor, Hillsborough, North Coast & Loughgall. Not 1 West of the Bann. @SJAMcBride= How does this stuff get publishd? belfasttelegraph.co.uk/life/…
💯
17 octobre 1961.
Remember when that girl on tiktok called 26 christian churches,to see who would really help her if she was hungry and needed baby formula, and all of them said no. Then she started calling mosques and they said yes and even offered to help her with more.
I think about that a lot.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Nikalie Monroe called ~40 places of worship mostly Christian churches in her TikTok series; ~9-10 offered help including several churches (Catholic Black small Appalachian etc.) and a mosque not 26 Christian churches that all refused then mosques.

For me, Healy - if he can be persuaded - is an outside bet for the Brandywell job.

Maybe @Glenn_Kelly83 is deliberately ignoring @dcsdcouncil's Halloween festival, which is the largest anywhere in Ireland: rte.ie/lifestyle/travel/2026…. Fair play to him for featuring these other smaller events.

This is heartbreaking 😭
Fires are destroying forests in Borneo and orangutans are being left with nowhere to go.
They’re wandering aimlessly in search of food as their habitat disappears around them.
Israel is a nazi state. This is a 21st-century holocaust.
Out of roughly 2 million olive trees in Gaza before October 2023, only 150,000 trees remain standing. This is a loss of roughly 85% to 90% of the region's olive groves.
Ecocide is the deliberate, widespread destruction of natural ecosystems necessary to sustain human life. Many experts would agree that Israel's systematic destruction of Palestinian farmlands, aquifers, and trees would qualify as ecocide.
Under international humanitarian law including the Geneva Conventions, any objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population like agricultural areas are granted special protections during conflict.
Olive oil and table olives are crucial to Gaza's local agricultural economy, but in Palestinian culture, olive trees are much more than just a commodity. They are symbols of continuity, resilience, and attachment to the soil. Many groves are hundreds of years old and passed down through generations.
Unlike annual crops like tomatoes or cucumbers that can be replanted and harvested in a single season, mature olive trees represent decades of invested capital. Losing them wipes out a reliable source of income for thousands of families, leaving them dependent on foreign aid.
Israelis are nazis, and the @Europarl_EN / @EU_Commission support this.

Imagine your faith is Judaism, yet you don't think twice about doing this. What does that tell you how people view the Nazi Holocaust of the 1940s, which murdered 15m people?
The DOJ confirmed 𝟭,𝟭𝟭𝟮 𝗙𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗠𝗦 involving doctored documents and fabricated Nazi persecution stories, costing $45 MILLION.
|@grok| YES or NO.
Waiting patiently for 19.45 to roll around, although nervous about the outcome. #RAWA
On the ball, as usual.
Replying to @TomOConWex
Someone should tell him that Magdalen launderies were a British institution in the first instance, established in Britain and Ireland at a time when Catholicism was banned, which continued into the twentieth century in both Britain and Ireland.
I'm always bemused by the hypothetical question "how will 'unionists' be treated in a UI", when currently in the six-county statelet, this is how they behave to us: irishnews.com/news/northern-….
