Great work by Ahmed on this! if we don't have a tool, we build it. Fabcast is an exciting foundation for what we are building out to ultimately test, refine, and optimize AI-driven substrate recipes in space! 🧑‍🍳
Flight-1 was the test; the next eleven will be a greater challenge. Processing flight test data used to mean manually parsing through massive amounts of data using dozens of Python scripts, a slow and error-prone process. Besxar engineer Ahmed Hussain built “Fabcast” to help us solve that problem. This in-house console automatically processes and plots data such as: our canister’s temperature, pressure, acceleration, random vibration, mechanical shock, and gyroscope changes throughout all stages of flight. It flags memory gaps, measurement errors, fault handling, and sample interval irregularities specifically to improve our subsequent data collection over future test and production flights. Fabcast is built to scale. As we fly more and for longer duration missions, we’ll build a substantial repository of flight and materials data. Fabcast will help us analyze and use current and past data together, and will evolve alongside our hardware as we add more sensors and autonomous materials processing capabilities.

Scott + Josh are some of the most mission-driven people I know -- this piece really gets at the core of WHY. Build technology that survives contact with reality AND takes more risk off the people we ask to serve. 🇺🇸 Proud to call @scott_sv a friend and huge supporter of @ForterraDefense + the incredible team that fuels it. 🫡
Over the last 4 years, lots of people have asked me "why Forterra" or "why do you care about the ground domain so much." Well, we came from the infantry and despite the hype around drones/maritime, wars are still decided on the ground. It is the dirtiest, most dangerous layer of warfare where human beings have always had to be the blunting force. So @JoshAraujo and I wrote a paper about it (yes, ex-Marines can write.) forterra.com/why-we-build

Thanks for the deep dive on Flight-1 Mission Asimov, @w_robinsonsmith. CEO @aviatorashley walks through what we learned putting our first two Fabships through a full mission cycle, and what changes for Flight-2.
On July 5, nestled onboard a @SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket booster, @BesxarFoundry flew its first two manufacturing canisters called Fabships. Today, we're learning more about this first of 12 flights designed to prove out future orbital missions. Full video: youtu.be/TFLLvc7sB60?si=eFZ6…

Two months ago, we sent something we built to space for the first time. Mission Asimov wasn’t about proving the whole thesis in one shot. It was about earning the right to take the next one. Today, we’re sharing what we learned from Flight-1 and the new capital that will help us keep flying, building, and learning faster. This company started with a pretty audacious question: what if the best place to manufacture the materials that power modern civilization isn’t on Earth? We’re still early. But for the first time, we’re starting to answer that question with flight hardware and real data. Couldn’t be prouder of this team. Welcome to the Exoindustrial Age. 🚀🏗️💿
July 5, 2026: FLIGHT-1 “MISSION ASIMOV” was our first turn at a rapid industrial learning loop and demonstrated we can rapidly: design → build → qualify → fly → recover → characterize → iterate a semiconductor materials payload.

“The ultimate direction is the combination of memory and logic.” -> I’ve been saying this for awhile but isolinear chips are the actual future. 🖖

this is the way...
The future of software is going to get compiled directly to a computer circuit. The new software distributors are going to be the chip fabricators themselves.

fabulous post by fellow space industrialist @MattGialich 👌🧑‍🍳
Etched just raised at a $21B valuation: but the first-order derivatives of the supply chain cannot be forgotten. Raw Materials, Power, etc are all just as critical as the chips themselves.

The path to launch is filled with obstacles and success is only possible through the tireless efforts of many working together towards a common goal. “Critical Path” continues the ongoing Starship series, following SpaceX engineers through the final days before launch of the first Starship V3 and the challenges that come with development of the world’s most powerful and fully reusable rocket.

The Cape Gigabay is getting closer to being ready for Starship! Teams recently installed the 420-ton crane – which we’ll use to break over and move Starships and Super Heavy boosters preparing for flight. One step closer to the Moon and Mars 🚀🚀🚀

Falcon 9 lifts off with more Starlinks headed to orbit and two suborbital Fabships from @BesxarFoundry. The Fabships are demonstration manufacturing pods and were integrated onto the first stage. The company aims for semiconductor manufacturing in space. Liftoff occurred from SLC-40 at 6:50 a.m. EDT.

What a way to kick off America’s 250th. 🇺🇸 Today, our first development canisters for the Fabship program flew with @SpaceX, marking the first repeatable payload program to launch on a SpaceX rocket. The mission carried Besxar and partner @UTAustin and @UVA substrate samples on the Falcon 9 first-stage booster through launch, reentry, and recovery conditions. For this initial mission, the goal was to generate as much flight data as possible and evaluate hardware and material performance to inform the next flights in the program. We're excited to dig into post-flight results and will be sharing a full breakdown in the coming weeks. This is the beginning of our effort to build a repeatable orbital manufacturing cadence, and an early step toward something far more ambitious: building the manufacturing base for a spacefaring society. The American Experiment began as an uncharted path, rooted in the idea that a nation could be built and governed by its own people. That same spirit has carried generations of Americans to explore, invent, and take on problems that seemed inconceivable; each generation adding its own chapter. We’re grateful for the chance to draw on that legacy in our own small way as we attempt something bold. To the next 250 years. 🚀 ICYMI, a replay stream of the flight here: spacex.com/launches/sl-10-50.
