Denmark has been a longstanding partner to Nigeria, with collaborations spanning energy, agriculture, and technology, so it was a pleasure therefore to acknowledge the strength of this partnership as I visited H.E. President @officialABAT at the Presidential Villa together with Anders Holch Povlsen, CEO of the Bestseller Group and Chairman of the Bestseller Foundation. The delegation also included members of his Board of Directors and the Danish Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb. Jens Ole Bachman. President Tinubu and Mr. Povlsen share similar qualities — vision, courage, and a willingness to invest in the future, rather than simply admire it — and this was evident in the conversations during the visit. Mr. President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to support partners like the Bestseller Foundation Chairman towards achieving shared prosperity while acknowledging Mr. Povlsen’s already significant investment in Nigeria and Africa. Right after our visit to the President, I then hosted Mr. Povlsen and his team in my office to explore deeper opportunities for collaboration with the Foundation. I was pleased to be joined in that conversation by a few leaders from our innovation, digital infrastructure, creative and extractive (mining) sectors. Our discussions focused on advancing digital connectivity, developing Nigeria’s creative economy, expanding opportunities in the fashion industry, and exploring lithium manufacturing as a pathway for sustainable industrial growth. These engagements, coming on the back of our recent collaboration with the Danish government, reflect growing international confidence in Nigeria’s digital and economic transformation under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. We remain committed to fostering global partnerships that unlock innovation, create jobs, and position Nigeria as a key player in the global digital and creative economy. #NigerianExcellence
