I wrote a piece in 2022 about how twitter would be fine and it got me so cancelled in the tech sphere that friends from college emailed me to check if I was ok I was right and they were all fucking wrong. I knew tech better than 90% of my colleague and that actually hurt my career
Remember how eagerly the press swallowed stories about how Twitter was going to crash after Elon bought it? How could they have believed that someone who could run rocket and car companies couldn't run a forum?

>country experiences one of the most violent crime waves in history >NGO recommends tons of rehabilitative bs to lower crime >Ignore them >Jail all violent criminals and don't let them out >Crime goes down >NGOs cry about human rights violation and people love you
🚨 NOW: El Salvadorans are boasting that President Nayib Bukele has turned his once-violent country into the OPPOSITE of EUROPE instead of rampant gangs and no go zones, the people are safe and THRIVING -98% in homicides Incredible what ruling with an iron fist over crime...

“The idea we closed the beaches was insane, in hindsight”. No, Gavin. It was insane then. We all told you it was insane then. You knew it was insane then. You’re just an insane person.

Fact checking yourself and still being wrong has to be the top 10 worst aura loss moments in history, this guy sucks
Hasan is asked a single follow up question and immediately proves himself wrong Hasan: All the way back in 2001, had 66% approval that America in some way, shape or form, was responsible for 9-11... Alex: What poll is this? Hasan: I might have actually presented it more favorable than it actually is... In 2001, 33% of all Americans said that US wrongdoing might have motivated 9-11 attacks Alex: But that's less than 66%

No. Fuck you. You're not going to rewrite history and pretend like you weren't celebrating it the minute it happened. We didn't forget something we all saw with our own eyes a year ago. You're not gaslighting anyone on this one, you disgusting, shameless liar.

Even on Bluesky, the main sentiment was "I did not like him but do not want political violence to become normalized". What pushed it from "horrible tragedy" to "funny joke" was Republicans canonizing him, putting his name on things, acting like he was a civil rights leader, etc.

It's incredible that Wikipedia keeps doing this. They will keep calling real things that immigrants do "moral panics", unless they are rebuked on each one. They used to call the UK grooming gangs a moral panic as well, until this was widely criticized on X and I made this post shooting down their sources and arguments. Wikipedia on these questions is a large-scale infohazard. nitter.cf/jonatanpallesen/status…
Did you know that “African gangs in Melbourne” was just a moral panic? Apparently there was no serious problem with South Sudanese youth violence at all. Don’t believe me? There’s a whole Wikipedia page saying so, complete with academic citations. The problem is that even the data from the time showed serious overrepresentation in violent offending, and subsequent research found the overrepresentation remained even after comparing people of the same age. A decade later, Victoria has a worse youth crime problem that is deteriorating and the government itself now talks openly about youth gang crime and South Sudanese overrepresentation in the justice system. This teaches us at least two lessons. First, a Wikipedia and academia are ideologically captured and should be treated with suspicion. Second, maybe dismissing the problem as a “moral panic” rather than confronting it wasn’t quite the triumph of enlightened policymaking it has been presented as. Now let’s apply those lessons more broadly to some of the policies challenges we face today.

If you push on this at all, it all falls apart. There’s no test for what people believe. Nobody gets stripped of American citizenship for believing the wrong things. And of course you wouldn’t even want that to be the case! What are you going to do — deport me for disagreeing with you even though my family has been here for hundreds of years? Deport me where? I don’t even have identifiable family anywhere else. We don’t even prevent people from coming here in the first place who clearly hold views that are at odds with the founding principles. This is all completely incoherent. It doesn’t mean anything.
What makes you American isn't how long your family has been here or what your ancestors did. Nor is it just whether you live here or are a citizen. It's how much you love our country, share its Founding ideals, & prefer its way of life to that of any other place. Our heritage as Americans is its ideas & culture, not its bloodlines.

The non-White majority in California is trying to repeal civil rights from the state's constitution so that persecution of the replaced Whites, now a tiny minority, can be done more overtly.
Notice these people cite as evidence of a "great replacement" roughly a dozen faces in a stadium of 100,000 people. Even setting their prejudicial assumptions aside, their pitiable psychological fears render them unable to apply basic numeracy or common sense.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s good that there are people who will fight this, but I can’t really imagine staying in Massachusetts once this ball has started rolling. You gotta move to Florida or whatever, bro. Pack it in.
A Massachusetts family says the state took custody of their teenage daughter after they refused to affirm her as a boy, citing their Catholic faith. The parents allege a school counselor socially transitioned their daughter without their knowledge, then reported them to the Department of Children and Families. Now the state has guardianship, and a restraining order prevents the teen's parents and older brother from contacting her. A judge has temporarily blocked the state from administering high-dose testosterone as the family fights the case. The next court hearing is set for Oct. 29. | @LaurenGreenFox @AmericaNewsroom

Abortion is how we ended up here. Never forget that. The abortionists have continually shifted goalposts until eventually it came to this. When you have no morals, it becomes easy to devalue any and all human life. Between euthanasia, abortion, forced vaccines, and "gender affirming care" (mutilation) and endless drugging, modern medicine has become incomprehensibly evil. The doctors behind this should be stoned to death.
