As a writer, I feel torn posting about politics. But BOOKS ARE POLITICAL, they either condone our society or criticise it, they can warn against where policies or idelogies might take us, and they can inspire us to fight back. That's why they get burned. #auspol #amwriting

They said a 25 minute wait for the script to be ready. Outraged, I asked to speak to the manager. Guess what???? There is a 25 minute wait for the script to be ready.

Guys, it finally happened. Completely unprompted, my wife asked me how big the Roman Empire was. My time has come. #RomanEmpire #SheFinallyAsked

Integrated Learning I've never broken Stonegate's rules before. I have a perfect record. Would I break a rule to maintain that perfect record? To graduate as Select and move up in the world, painfully independent Gem must ace her final assignment. Unfortunately it's group work, her partner is inexplicably distracting, and information on their topic —the multiform hivemind organisms known as the Many—is restricted. In Aurealis #166. Reprinted in Rebels & Rainbows anthology. Shortlisted in the Aurealis Awards.

It feels weird to post book-related stuff rn, but a project I've been working on for ages is about to be published - REBELS & RAINBOWS is an Australasian Queer Speculative anthology celebrating our amazing and diverse LGBTIQA+ community and all the wonder they bring to the world

I'm gonna say it. The makers of Royal Match seriously overestimate my desire to keep members of the royal family alive.

Just found out today that Tolstoy wrote a sequel to Anna Karenina. Mind blown.

In 1994, Ukraine gave up the 3rd largest nuclear weapons arsenal in exchange for security guarantees from the US, UK, and Russia. First, Russia violated that agreement, and now the US has too. With friends like them, who needs enemies?

No-one talks about it enough, but no-one does "traditional Christian values" half as well as Muslim countries do.

It's not that I fail to grasp the seriousness of the security threats Israel faces, it's just that I think they're largely self-inflicted.

Herald Sun just emailed with exclusive headline: "Shock poll reveals Peter Dutton on track for major win at next Federal Election". Body of story includes this: “We estimate there is a 98% chance of a minority govt & slightly less than a 2% chance of a Coalition majority.”
