Goulburn NSW just now. Sickening to watch this horrific fall for 3 year old Spencer Fury. He doesn't appear to be able to get up. Not sure if he is still alive. Report will be online later. Hope he is ok.
Too many greyhounds, accelerating too quickly, chasing too hard as they have been trained to do, first turn, not enough room to run safely at high speed - falls, serious injuries, deaths, are inevitable.
Used for racing 42 times, he has earned $17,705 for some humans.

These familiar but still shocking images provide further important evidence of a pattern of abuse and suffering inflicted on greyhounds in NSW on a daily basis.
These images are further evidence of unsafe NSW tracks and the serious risks faced by greyhounds when running on these tracks.
GRNSW claims to prioritise animal welfare. These images, and many others like them, do not support those claims.

Trainer Headbutts Wife: Tasmanian Trainer Steven Croft has been suspended for 5 years after he headbutted a person we believe is his wife Ms Natasha Croft at a Hobart Dog Track on the 12th December 2024.
Greyhound Left in Agony: West Australian Trainer Shane Beard allowed his greyhound called 'It's Frank" to suffer with a serious leg injury for a prolonged period of time. When the dog was finally presented to a Vet it needed to be euthanised. BEARD was suspended for 9 months.
S.A. Trainer Jack TRENGROVE is being investigated after photos taken inside his Two Wells kennel showed dogs with sores, bloody stool and dried faeces on the floor. TRENGOVE is also being probed for "rough handling" of a dog on September 10 and refusing medical care for a dog.
Live Baiting: Greyhound Racing Victoria suspended an unnamed Trainer for Live Baiting. A press release by them that was very light on detail said the trainer was suspended Friday 27th December 2024 after an inspection of his kennels and training facilities indicated live baiting.
Wagering on Tasmanian Greyhound Racing again fell, this time a considerable 17% last financial year.
VICTORIAN Greyhound Trainer Daniel Bicchieri has been suspended for 9 months by authorities after he raced a greyhound on cocaine. Authorities found BICCHIERI's excuse for the positive test, 'someone gave the dog a pat in the street had the drug on their hand lacked credibility.'
In an amazing step 17 New South Wales Greyhound Trainers have all been suspend on the same day because they all have dogs that are missing, presumed dead by authorities and they did not tell the regulator.
GREYHOUND RACING WILL BE BANNED IN NEW ZEALAND: In MASSIVE news today Racing Minister Winston Peters has announced that Greyhound Racing will be phased out over the next 20 months in NZ. Persistently high injury rates, much like here in Australia were sighted as the main reason.

Today alone, the press is reporting 7 cases of greyhound doping this month alone in Queensland. In New South Wales we reported about a trainer who hit and 'roughed up' his own greyhound. In Victoria, reports of a greyhound that slowly rotted to death from gangrene.
This is Dog and Harness Trainer Glenn Powell, he has been suspended from dog racing for 15 month because he hit one of his dogs then roughly handled the poor animal in front of authorities, one can only imagine what happens when no one else is around with his other dogs.
Greyhound Racing New South Wales has posted a huge loss of $16.7 million, with an 8% decline in wagering last financial year.

Greyhound Trainer Shane CARTWRIGHT from South Kempsey NSW was suspended for 18 months after he presented a dog to race on the drug 'ICE'. Also suspended in 2023 for another drug offence. In 2021 he allowed a dog to suffer for 4 weeks with an injured hock, the dog was put down.
