When the torch is never passed, the older generation becomes a bottleneck and the younger generation becomes a liability.
You see it everywhere: the 75-year-old owner who refuses to retire because he’s "the only one who knows how to talk to the clients," and the 40-year-old son who has never learned how to handle a real negotiation because he was never allowed in the room.
Rather than preserving the business, you are atrophy-ing it.
A living company must be able to survive its founder.

FRANCE 🇫🇷 : A heartbreaking scene😢.
A business owner desperately pleads with looters and vandals to leave her shop alone.
Her livelihood is being destroyed before her eyes.
No business owner should have to endure this.

True, but a lot of them are broke when they had 50 years of uninterrupted compound interest during strong economic times . They squandered so many opportunities.

The best part is this figure is this is just raw numbers @jonnajarian. The US has 8.3x the population of Canada.
Population adjusted that is about 136,941 MAID deaths vs 15,364 firearm homicides.
@AtomicEl79data retweeted
🇨🇦 Deaths from assisted dying: 16499
🇺🇸 Deaths from firearm homicaide: 15364
More people died through Canada’s assisted dying program than were killed with guns in the United States.
Make it make sense...
Paging @DavidBCollum
Your perspective would be interesting here given your field.
I’m about to give a lecture to the Columbia Math Dept, but honestly I just wanna ask THE STUDENTS how they feel about AI frontrunning their life’s work & each other. 😂 Here’s what happened in plain English:
2 groups of mathematicians made a lifetime breakthrough one of the most famous problems that had gone unsolved for almost 100 years.
But they only solved a much easier version of the problem w/lots of AI assistance, & then a false rumor went around that Anthropic had solved the problem because one of the authors was working at Anthropic lmao.
So then OpenAI decided to frontrun them & spend $20 million of compute to solve the problem. 😏
And since it’s a famous problem there’s a $1M prize for it like the Nobel.
Then the OpenAI dude told the group leader you can share the prize with us & we’ll even let you claim first authorship but you need to drop the name of your Anthropic coauthor from the paper.
Then the group leader got mad because that’s super unethical & felt like they secretly used his ChatGPT data to figure out what he was working on to frontrun him. At least that’s the Anthropic perspective.
The problem is so hard that the original two authors would’ve gotten a top math prize & generational prestige for just solving the easier version.
But OpenAI just brute forced it while seemingly stealing their idea and being unethical and everything.
If not for the drama the scientific achievement would’ve been comparable to curing a form of cancer in their field‼️
But instead no one’s questioning that it got solved, & instead it devolved into this shitshow. 😌
Now a lot of mathematicians are saying the hardest problems that they spend a lifetime working on are gonna get solved in a year or two. 🙃
And some mathematicians are now saying it’s like doping and they should ban using AI on some types of problems to “maintain the challenge.”
Ask forgiveness
Not permission.
Be bold my man.

Luke, I speak often for ministry.
I have offered twice to address this subject at a high school we are connected to , in their chapel. Don’t want a thing.
Response, crickets……
This sounds like 'weaponizing the dollar'. Thoughts?
🚨 Scott Bessent is AWESOME!
Q: Did you expect as Treasury Secretary to be so involved in US national security?
SCOTT BESSENT: "This was the problem with past administrations. We separated economic security from national security. I came into office saying — economic security is national security!"
"A group of us are running as HARD as we can over the next few years to take away ANY leverage our adversaries might have against us."
He's crushing it and will go down in history as one of the greatest EVER!
I don't think many people expected the Treasury Secretary to be so pivotal in Trump 2.0.
WE LOVE BESSENT 🇺🇸

🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting after a Virginia mother of FIVE has been CONVICTED of a crime, sentenced to 6 months in jail, and placed on the CHILD ABUSE REGISTRY for 7 years...
...because she let her 5-year-old son walk half a mile to the pond in their GATED community to collect goose feathers.
Yes, you read that right...
Her name is Karyann Parkinson and she is probably the furthest thing from an "unfit mother" you will ever meet.
She has a degree in family science. She was a family life educator. She spent three years as a live-in behavioral specialist caring for 35 troubled girls. Her husband is a family therapist.
They moved to Virginia so she could go to William & Mary LAW SCHOOL.
This past June, eight months pregnant and studying for the bar, she took her boy Sam on their usual bike ride to the pond.
When they got home, he asked to walk back for more feathers.
Just a half-mile walk home on a sidewalk with ten feet of grass between him and the road.
Two crosswalks he'd used hundreds of times, inside a gated neighborhood with 24-hour security and a 25 mph speed limit.
She said yes, and she made lunch.
A stranger saw a kid walking and called security.
The guard marched Sam home and told this 5-year-old that his mommy did something wrong
His mother says it "scared the crap out of him."
Then the guard called the cops. Then the cop called backup.
Within minutes: THREE police cars. Three officers. A security vehicle. Two CPS workers. All at one mother's front door.
For a kid walking home on a sidewalk
CPS told her husband, "a 5-year-old child can never be unsupervised."
Never. Not for one minute. Not in a gated community. Not on a sidewalk.
That is the government's position on YOUR children.
They put her on the child abuse and neglect registry.
Seven years.
They charged her with "contributing to the delinquency of a minor."
A charge meant for parents who let their kids do drugs and skip school.
Last week, a judge convicted her and she got six months in jail, suspended and a permanent criminal record.
She can likely never volunteer at her kids' school again.
She may never be allowed to practice law.
What are we doing here????
Kids used to walk to school ALL THE TIME.
I used to ride bikes with my friends until till the streetlights came on... no one ever knew where I was and it didn't matter because this WAS AMERICA.
Now a five-year-old can't walk to a pond without three squad cars and a criminal conviction for his mother???
We've criminalized childhood...
This is Trump's problem now
