IIRC, in 2021 I was on record publicly predicting the controlled demolition of the American Empire, including the Middle East (because without that part of it, another superpower couns waltz in and own the Eastern Hemisphere's energy supply).
Looks like others are starting to notice.
I wonder if history will record this as a World War, a Fall of Empire, or the final moves in the War on Terror.
They crave validation. (My going theory about the symbiotic relationship of therapy btw.)

The below is a good read.
It is, in turn, downstream from a culture with two other basic problems:
1) Most areas of life are over-run with arbitrary restrictions that are enforced from on high instead of arising from the needs of community members whom one regularly encounters directly.
2) A definition of "hurting anyone" that is one layer deep, and doesn't understand anything about ecosystems of sociality. When "Good fences make good neighbors" doesn't compute, you have a failure of socialization so basic that the people involved may never be fit to operate in public.
The primary problem with widespread dog ownership and car culture is growing entitlement and anti-social behavior of owners
People who just break rules and then feel as though YOU are a problem for caring because they “aren’t hurting anyone” and to “mind your own business”
So they park in bike lines, refuse to pick up shit, let dogs off leash in places where it’s specifically prohibited.

Hey, I need everyone to mute AND block @LeosTake26 for stealing content.
The goal here is to de-rank his account so that he doesn't gain anything from the stolen content.
It would be one thing if he was just reuploading, but he's being a jerk to anyone who calls him out.

Can we normalize Christians admitting they're struggling without making them feel like they're failing?

We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps:
-It’s ‘sleight of hand’
-It’s ‘bated breath’
-It’s ‘lo and behold’
-It's 'buck naked'
-It’s ‘brass tacks’
-It’s ‘free rein’
-It’s ‘toe the line'

San Francisco has models that are "too powerful to release."
What does it all mean?
No AGI for you or me.
Great recruiting ploy. "Hey AI researcher/developer, come here and you can use the good stuff."
It also means that the frontier labs will be able to develop products and services no one else can.
Now I get why the VCs keep whispering that the VC model itself is under attack. If two companies can develop better products than anyone else, investing in everyone else is a fools errand, no?
Sam Altman says OpenAI's current best internal model is too powerful to release openly any time soon.
Before that could happen, the whole cyber defense setup of the internet would need to change and the world would need a new layer of protection against biological threats.

Ah, election season, that time of ywar when people who are normally just a bit obtuse reveal themselves to be enthusiastic parrots of mendacity.
I feel like I'm in "The Horror at Chilton Castle" today as I'm writing this rebuttal essay about Dracula. So if I'm a bit quiet today, now you know.

Instead of unleashing insults on the lack of zoomer literacy in my YouTube comments section, tomorrow’s article will be a straightforward lesson on understanding long-form content. Whether you be creator or consumer, it’ll guide you on structure, sources, and ethics.
There, there sweet baby. Auntie will teach you literacy
Good list!
Here are the ten best 1960s horror movies in my opinion. If you haven't seen one or more of them, check them out. They are NOT in order.
Night of the Living Dead
The Haunting
Carnival of Souls
Psycho
At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul (Brazil)
Kill Baby Kill (Italy)
Quatermass and the Pit (Britain)
Black Cat Mansion (Japan)
The Brain that Wouldn't Die
Curse of the Crying Woman (Mexico)
If you've missed one or more, I envy you because you get to see them for the first time. I'm sure I've missed one of your favorites. (I love The Blob and Peeping Tom - they just didn't make my top ten.) I did have the restriction that only one film by a given director could show up, or I'd have added Hitchcock's The Birds and Mario Bava's Black Sunday.
Can you tell which stills came from which film?
This is a pipe dream laced with performative bullshit. And it’s fraught with cronyism, owed favors, a further degradation of quality, and a culture of parasitism. No innovation, no exploration, no risk taking.
Luke means well. This isn’t the way though.
If any A-lister wants to be the absolute talk of the town they could do so by publicly taking a 10% pay cut with the stipulation the 10% would go to the working class actors whose pay has been dramatically cut down the last 10 or so years.
IE someone like Nicole Kidman takes $450K per episode instead of $500K per episode and every recurring guest star is now a series regular, every large co-star is now a guest star, etc etc etc.

When your kitteh gets sick (a rare thing) and he's like, "Are you mad at me?" afterwords, poor little guy. One distressed mew and the chaos began. At least, it was all in one spot, not under the bed, and I didn't step in it. – at Morgantown, MS
