At a @bmwfoundation’s #MSC2026 event at @MunSecConf on Europe’s energy mix I highlighted how nuclear is already Europe’s largest source of low-carbon electricity. The focus now is on delivery: extending the life of existing reactors, building new capacity, advancing SMR technologies and ensuring regulatory processes keep pace, without ever compromising safety.
Nuclear is not a panacea, but it is a necessary part of the solution. As electricity demand grows, driven by electrification, industry and data centres, 🇪🇺 has a real opportunity to strengthen its energy security. The @IAEAorg will be there to support.
