For this space, the staff desired both privacy and visibility, seen here as a partial height partition separated from the ceiling to avoid a closed-off feeling. A natural wood look and traditional acoustic ceiling tiles at the ceiling increase sound absorption and limit sound fatigue, in addition to a cushion-backed floor. The two large-scale light fixtures imitate skylights and change in color to mimic natural light shifts throughout the day, which is proven to increase alertness and contribute to a better transition at the end of a shift.
