CO2 emissions within the UK fell another 2.9% in 2019, reaching levels last seen in 1888 (!)
Including a record 7 consecutive years of decline, emissions fell by 29% over the past decade.

Carbon offsets are needed for net zero. But CERs are a gangrened limb, i.e. #strandedassets. We need to start again and our starting point need not be a globally agreed UNFCCC market. High quality offsets for net zero can be created with many other market mechanisms.
