Appreciate the opportunity for @UMassVascSurg to participate in first annual ATLAS-PVI conference. Vascular surgery continues to push limits on what is possible-Dr. Schanzer discussed EndoBentall/EndoWheat. 25 years since 1991 EVAR reported and what a journey it has been!

Dr. Darren Schneider presenting at ATLAS-PVI 2026 in LA on sac filling and false lumen obliteration: "The ultimate endpoint is not simply filling space-it is durable remodeling and better overall patient survival."

Clash of the Titans: Great debate at ATLAS-PVI Aortic 2026 between Gustavo Oderich and Andres Schanzer on democratizing access to complex aortic care across the US vs. concentrating expertise in designated Centers of Excellence. An important discussion on access, expertise, and patient outcomes

Great debate on Endo-Bentall among titans of vascular surgery—Gustavo Oderich, Andres Schanzer, and Stephan Haulon. The future of acute Type A aortic dissection is being reimagined, with the field moving toward less invasive, endovascular solutions. An exciting new frontier in aortic surgery!

Postop 5 Years on top row. Preop on bottom row. So reassuring when the treated aneurysm regresses completely and the stent graft appears to be in a normal artery. If only we could figure out a way to ensure that for all repairs. Key unmet need.

“This is a team award, not an individual one. While the recognition is appreciated, the surgery itself is just one small part of a patient’s journey. It’s our phenomenal team who care for the patients every step of the way. Grateful to be a part of this phenomenal team.”

An oldie but a goodie: still an important technique to have in the vascular surgeon’s toolbox. Aortic endarterectomy, step by step. #VascularSurgery #AorticSurgery #Endarterectomy

Honored to present at #VAM26 on behalf .@AorticC Fenestrations outperform directional branches in target vessel incorporation for complex AAA and Extent IV TAAA — with lower occlusion rates and superior 5-year freedom of target vessel instability rates . Data from 2,044 patients across 10 centers.

“Magic”… sure. Or a center with deep experience, technical creativity, and a team that knows exactly what they’re doing. Amazing to see how far complex endovascular care has come even just since I finished training…

Proud to share ARCH-ARC out today in Circulation 🔥 The endo arch world is moving FAST — branched/fenestrated devices, ascending endografts, total arch without sternotomy. We needed a framework to keep up. First-ever standardized endpoints for thoracic aortic arch trials: new aortic-specific neuro endpoints including structured neurocognitive testing, delirium protocols & spinal cord injury grading. A modified Type A Dissection Classification system to clarify arch involvement. A framework for multi-specialty collaboration. Real outcomes for real patients. It was a privilege to lead this alongside @AWBeckMD and couldn't be prouder of what this incredible international team built together 🫀🚀 #AorticSurgery #TEVAR #ArchARC ahajournals.org/doi/full/10.…
