healthcare for women in this country is abysmal. the rate of maternal death is the highest of all developed countries & black women die at an even higher rate. I certainly would not want to be black & pregnancy in this country & certainly not the south

You don’t need to be confident.
You just need to meet your life with presence, courage, and an openness to starting again.
And again, and again, and again.
Confidence will grow from there.

Save the babies and murder the mom? Literally--the US has the worst maternal death record of any wealthy nation. Want to continue a cycle of poverty? Wealthy people will jet off to other states to have their abortion.

Jimmy Carter is trending again, as he should be, because he's 98 years old, kind, and still volunteering to make life better for the world. Thanks, Jimmy 😊

We were delighted to have this paper accepted in @IJQMonline with no revisions after three peer reviewers had assessed it - we hope it will advance our field of qualitative research and be of use to researchers of all levels of experience!
Qualitative researchers can be exposed to emotionally charged, distressing, & compromising content. We outline how to keep researchers safe.

Every maternal death is heartbreaking. Every death that could have been prevented with proper care is unacceptable.
Healthy pregnancies begin before conception. Quality prenatal, pregnancy & postpartum care (w/ mental health care) help to improve health equity & prevent deaths.
More than 80% of pregnancy-related deaths were preventable according to an analysis of new data (bit.ly/3UyIjbx) from Maternal Mortality Review Committees (MMRCs) in 36 US States.

Tragically, the risks for new mothers continue beyond the first day, the first weeks, the first months postpartum, and especially for maternal death related to an untreated maternal mental health condition, through the first year. Time for a continuum of care, no expiration date.

I seriously need to tell the world that hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal death and also the most preventable. Stop the nonsense of ‘pure blood’ transfusions. MOTHERS WILL DIE.

Suicide is a preventable but leading cause of maternal death in the US. Effective, free and validated screening tools exist to identify those at risk for perinatal depression. Treatment is available and can have a significant impact. @2020MomProject 2020mom.org/maternal-suicide
