In our latest preprint we analyzed how abasic (AP) sites affect DNA replication:
- AP sites stall DNA synthesis ⛓️💥
- Leading APs stall replisomes but lagging APs don’t 🛑/✅
- TLS is crucial for bypass of both leading and lagging strand AP sites 🛠️🧬
