Day 21 (I think). After 3 weeks at sea we arrived at Kerguelen and could enjoy solid ground and fantastic wildlife. Hej till @GretaThunberg! Vi är i södra Indiska Oceanen för att kartlägga biodiversiteten hos djuphavsfisk och krill och hur de påverkas av klimatförändringarna.

September's #Solitarybee of the month is the Pantaloon bee (Dasypoda hirtipes). Females have oversized orange pollen brushes on their hind legs, giving the impression of a bee wearing pantaloons! ow.ly/YSn330lDDac @StevenFalk1 #conservation #wildlife #bumblebees

Here are four of the best bee-mimicking hoverflies of Wytham Woods. It is a great site for seeing these, though some are pretty scarce: Eriozona syrphoides, Mallota cimbiciformis, Criorhina ranunculi and Criorhina berberina.

#Bumblebee nest colonies only last a few months with all the bees dying off naturally by the end of summer. Except for the new queens who find a cosy place to hibernate elsewhere in the soil - saving their energy to build a nest for next year! #wildlife Photo credit: Andrea Ku
The surveyors were here at Acklam Meadows yesterday planning on tearing it all up. Middlesbrough Council has shown no respect to #Greenspace #MentalHealthMatters nor #Nature.
