My name is Joshua Harris-Till. I’m the Democratic running for US Congress in Oklahoma’s 5th District. This is the most winnable seat in Oklahoma because all statewide wins require big wins in CD5! I’m at almost 1000 followers, could you help us hit 1000?! #ForTheFifth – at Oklahoma City, OK

Let’s be brave and reduce content. I promise you. If done thoughtfully, and with the aim of centering humanism, the students will be more than fine. Inclusive and active pedagogies reduce academic outcome gaps and improve long-term performance | PLOS ONE journals.plos.org/plosone/ar…

This whole thread is worth reading, but this point especially is a critical one. If you care about advancing DEI&J on your campus, you're thinking early and often about accessible design in terms of materials, policies, & practices. Want materials? There are lots! (1/7)

I've heard a lot of educators say "it's not my job" to fix this. Yes it is. If you care about equity it is. If you value disabled lives it is. If you value the well-being of your students it is. The system is purposefully oppressive. Our classrooms have to combat that. 12/13

This accessible syllabus site from @Amwomackdr at @Tulane is one of the best: clear, simple, great resources & examples. Demonstrates that even small changes can make a big, BIG difference. accessiblesyllabus.com/ (2/7)

I just wanna burst the big "if you eat well, exercise lots, be positive, try hard, get enough sleep and avoid stress then you can never be sick or disabled" bubble that the world covered itself in

#DisabilityRC I’ve got a faculty colleague w/ #ADHD who wants to seek work accommodations but doesn’t know what they could even ask for. If you’re comfortable, would anyone mind sharing accommodations they’ve received for ADHD? PM if that’s more comfortable. TY! #AcademicTwitter

What @Amwomackdr discuses is about all things #accessibility. We are all dis-abled at some point in our lives & all have daily accommodations. We are all different—let’s rethink our practice. #universaldesign @NatlHumanities #lovethiswork

There’s something seriously wrong with a system where nondisabled people have to approve a disabled person’s request for access or accommodation.

An amazing conference run by amazing conference chairs @jsanofranchini @donniejsackey @kristen4moore! A reminder that #attw22 is non profit & doesn’t make money off our conferences. We invest in our membership! Glad this investment shows and grateful for our community’s support.

My last new weekly hashtag will be poorly named #TuesdayThreads, which is really just me saying I'm threading my thinking to/through other scholars (AKA: what I'm reading). I've been reading again @Amwomackdr's 2017 CCC article on accessible syllabus design 1/5
