Pope Leo greets pilgrims at the Sunday Angelus, his first scheduled event since leaving hospital on Saturday.
In his words to pilgrims the Pope spoke of his experience in hospital, saying:
"I would like to thank all those who have prayed for me in recent days. I have truly sensed your support. Thank you!
I wish to express my particular gratitude to the doctors, nurses and all the staff of the Gemelli Hospital.
This experience has made me feel particularly close to all those who are living with illness or infirmity.
Now that I have overcome this delicate phase, as you know, I will gradually resume my activities, always with God’s help and your prayers."

Congressional pressure on the administration to come clean on Starlink restrictions - & reverse them if still in effect - would be timely.
Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone."
He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population."
He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory."
"They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this."
He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

Sanctions relief will continue. I think the diesel deal and the move regarding the Lindsey Graham Act are not the end of it. Unfortunately.
It’s unfortunate because we all had great respect for Lindsey. He devoted his life to America. We had an excellent relationship with him. And shortly before the tragedy, Lindsey was in Ukraine. He always supported us very strongly and pushed for as much assistance to Ukraine as possible.
It’s difficult without him, I’ll be honest. I want to thank both Democrats and Republicans who supported his bill. That was a major victory: this truly bipartisan support. And now, the decision to undo all of this, to block all of it, seems wrong to me. And it definitely helps only the Russians. It only fuels their satisfaction and their desire to keep killing people. This certainly does not stop the war.

Pope Leo XIV celebrated Mass at noon on Friday in the room set up on the 10th floor of Gemelli Hospital, according to the Holy See Press Office.
Several members of Gemelli's medical and nursing staff attended the Mass, along with members of the Vatican City State Gendarmerie Corps.
"In his homily, the Pope thanked all the staff—doctors, nurses, and orderlies—for the work they do every day caring for patients in their frailty, and especially for what they have done and continue to do for him," read the statement.

Hours after President Donald Trump denied personally ordering restrictions on Ukraine's Starshield communications network, and said he did not believe Elon Musk was responsible, The Telegraph published an investigation pointing to both men.
⚠️ According to the British newspaper, four sources familiar with the discussions said Musk personally approached Trump with a proposal to impose speed limits on the satellite service used by Ukrainian forces. One source said Trump agreed to the proposal, clearing the way for the Pentagon to implement the restrictions.
The account adds a detail to Reuters' earlier investigation, which traced the instruction to slow Ukraine's military-grade Starshield service to inside the White House but could not identify who made the decision.
Asked whether he or Musk had ordered the restrictions, Trump said: “I don't know if it was anybody, because it wasn't me, and I don't think it was Elon.”
The Telegraph's findings have not been independently verified, and the precise decision-making chain remains unresolved.
The restrictions disrupted Ukrainian drone operations, including interceptions of Russian jet-powered Shaheds, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who said Friday that service capabilities were being restored but had not fully recovered.
Nine U.S. senators have separately called for a Pentagon inspector general investigation into who authorized the restrictions and whether American personnel in Ukraine were placed at risk.
The new reporting raises a direct question about the administration's public account: if Musk proposed the restrictions and Trump agreed, why did the president deny that either was responsible?

This afternoon from his hospital bed, Pope Leo XIV spoke by telephone with Vladimir Putin, pleading for peace and calling for an immediate ceasefire.
The Vatican released the following press release:
"During the conversation, the Holy Father expressed his deep concern about the grave humanitarian situation in the city of Oleshky, in the Kherson region, and called for a ceasefire to allow the delivery of food and medical assistance, and the voluntary and safe evacuation of the civilian population. It’s just common sense. Russia is no friend to the US.
Our own Secretary of War testified under oath a couple weeks ago that Russia was helping Iran murder US service members. When asked who the US wanted to see win the war, the Department of War said “not Russia”.
Russia is not on the right side of history.
Russia has been helping Iran kill Americans.
I really question the motive of any so called “influencer” who says Russia is the good guy in this situation.
Russian state media spends all day everyday amplifying and botting the social media accounts of every single rabid anti-Trump and pro-Hitler podcaster out there.
Notice how the “influencers” never mention this. It’s the same people who refuse to condemn Tucker Carlson.
