People who's never been to India and doesn't understand the market should not express their opinions. Internet is cheap, accessible and widespread in India. Jio enabled fast internet access to hundreds of millions of people over a night 10 years ago.
Something feels off with this chorus of “India’s internet is great and super cheap” … the data shows that Indian market is absolutely dominated by mobile. When they say it’s cheap and well connected factually this only applies to mobile usage. This makes sense because a tower connects thousands of subs instantly after construction and running fiber is a building by building or resident by resident job. This is also why “fixed wireless” has started growing fast. Follow the incentives. It’s the cheapest and shortest route to revenue. Due to this, India is amongst the highest mobile bandwidth usage populations on the planet. 30-40GB/month. (20-50% above US/UK usage) However, home Fiber lines in India pull closer to 300GB/month. 10x gap For context, that gap in the US and UK is 20-30x. It’s pretty ubiquitous that if you have access to a lot of more bandwidth you will use it. Bandwidth abundance does not favor mobile devices. I’d argue that it’s not very hard to believe that these paltry sub 5% fixed customer penetration numbers would be much higher if a cost effective alternative existed. Is that alternative existed it wouldn’t be crazy to expect to see the fixed customer numbers jump from 6% to maybe 10%, 15% or 20%. 100M-200M customers. And if the rest of the world is any precedent that would lead to a dramatic increase in overall bandwidth used. However, that would mean that mobile bandwidth usage would likely drop or stagnate with in home mobile usage.

If we talk about India's internet revolution, we cannot ignore the role played by Reliance Jio. Jio entered the market with affordable data plans, changed the entire telecom industry, and pushed other players to become more competitive on pricing. Today, India is among the countries with the cheapest mobile data in the world. What will be the cost of the Starlink equipment? What will be the monthly subscription? Will a family living in a remote hilly village be able to afford it? India's existing telecom infrastructure supports a large ecosystem of technicians, engineers, contractors, maintenance workers, and other professionals. Thousands of people and businesses are involved in keeping these networks running. How many jobs will Starlink create in India? What investments will it make locally? How much infrastructure will it build here? Approval in one country does not automatically guarantee approval in another country within the same timeframe. India is open for business, not open for bullying. If you want access to our market, respect our rules. Simple.

Dear Prime Minister Ambani, Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India. Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete? There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better. Thank you 🙏

Hello. How are you? Thank you. I love you. Please. Some of the most frequently translated phrases of the past 20 years! Google Translate began twenty years ago with a mission to help people understand one another, regardless of the language they speak. What started as a small experiment has become a global tool that helps over 1 billion users every month. In that time Translate has evolved from simple pattern matching to true understanding. In 2006, it relied on statistical machine learning to look for patterns in small word clusters. By 2016, we pioneered a shift to neural networks to move beyond literal word-for-word translations, and today we’re using our powerful Gemini models to make Translate even more helpful. We are moving from text to fluid, real-time conversations. With our latest models, you can even use your headphones as a personal interpreter that preserves your original tone and cadence - it’s an amazing experience! One of the interesting things about AI is that as we make progress, we begin to take it for granted. If you met a person who could translate across a hundred languages faster than any human can, you would be so impressed. Today, one product does that for nearly 250 languages, and we kind of just shrug. Being able to say thank you in 250 languages is not something I take for granted. So to the 1 billion who use Google Translate - merci, dhanyavaad, arigatō, gracias, and thank you! Let’s see what the next 20 years will bring.

HE IS ATUL NIHALE He brutally raped a 5 year old girl, used a knife on private parts of the baby, killed her inhumanly and put her dead body in a tank so that it isn't found This was not his first crime He is a habitual offender with 5 more criminal cases against him Despite Madhya Pradesh High Court confirming his death sentence & concluding categorically that he has no mental issues SUPREME COURT OF INDIA has stayed his death sentence & ordered a medical evaluation If this man is not given death it would send a message in society that no matter how brutal a crime a man does in India, Judiciary will always be lenient on them by taking one ground or the other. UNACCEPTABLE #HangAtulNihal
