Great book but also and above all a very useful one. It brings together a mass of information that any historian of the period will find useful and I willingly leave out the "food"... historian!!
Listen now to the latest episode of the Around the Table podcast from @historecipes! I had a fantastic conversation with Prof. Deborah Krohn about her recent exhibition @BardGradCenter, Staging the Table in Europe 1500-1800. recipes.hypotheses.org/21849

This morning we are winding up Boire á la Renaissance at the Centre des Etudes Superieurs de la Renaissance in Tours with papers on the Bolus Tokayensis and one on the comparison between wine and beer by Antonio Gazio (maybe?). Lots of interesting papers over three days.

Usually a formative experience that stays with you. Over two decades most participants discovered that they were members of a community they did not know about!!
There is still time to apply to the Summer University dedicated to Food & Drink Studies. Alumni of the program have found it an invaluable step in their intellectual journey- maybe you will too! #foodhistory #twitterstorians #PhDchat summerschool.iehca.univ-tour…

Lovely evening at the Petit Patrimoine where it just so happened that we were the first to test the new menu! Thanks to ask for a very pleasant evening in good company.
This year’s #foodhistory conference has been another triumph thanks to the hard work of @AllenJGrieco @BienassisLoic and the @IEHCA_Network team. So many great papers, and chances to keep talking over food and drink. I’m already looking forward to the next time!!
