Before you teach them, you learn from them, says T @LiviaChanL. π
ALT Quote attributed to Livia Chan: "Meeting students where they are starts with knowing who they are β their families, likes and dislikes, how they learn, what they are interested in. Get to know them better EVERY day. When you understand them better, then you can better meet their needs."

Ever wonder why one teacher struggles so much with a student and others donβt? 9/10 times it is about the relationship between the student and the educator. Spend an extra minute or two every day connecting w ur hardest to reach kid. Relationships matter!

Today, the conversation continues at @AllJakeman
We are learning about what it means to matter, who we matter to, and who matters to us.
We learned that every child who attended a residential school matters.

Teachers are the best! Do you know one in NL who has made a big difference in a studentβs life? I mean, that is basically every teacher...but Iβm looking for some meaningful and unique stories for a project Iβm working on. Send me a DM :)

Teachers, it is not just students that need words of affirmation, but your colleagues, staff & even your admin need them. Building each other up creates a strong supportive culture.
