This remarkable young Gypsy Roma woman survived 6 different Nazi labour and concentration camps before her liberation. She had 8 children and 14 Grandchildren before she passed after settling in the USA.

Today we celebrate #romaniresistance On the morning of #16May 1944 the Roma prisoners of the “Gypsy Camp” at Auschwitz-Birkenau barricaded themselves in their barracks. Armed with hammers, axes and shovels, they fight for their lives and no Roma died in the gas chamber that day
