AI gamedev discourse?
Try playtests.
Never underestimate the human ability to fuckup your design.

There’s a whole crowd of people eagerly waiting for us game developers to get laid off, just so they can celebrate the downfall. It’s genuinely bizarre behavior.

And just so you know it cuts both ways... Another music artist. Another trailer with absolutely no nod to the fact the game has a music mode.

Much of the room wants it to be 2016 again, but it's not. Our job, as the provider of tools and technology to much of the industry, is to design for the present that is and the future that will soon be. Personally I'm optimisic about it and see it as empowering for creators.

you can tell a solo dev because they think this way
in games, it's well known that tools programmers are unofficial designers. the nature of the tools dictates what designers build, and the limits of programmer imagination sets the boundaries for what can even be done. this "there is always one best solution" stuff is hot garbage pushed by people who work in a vacuum and can't imagine their work product as anything than a frame crane measured by efficiency
in the real world, the work is collaborative and the code dictates what that collaboration is
