~1pm Sat - Wind Warning issued for Edmonton along with a dust storm warning for some areas. Edmonton Int Airport reports a 117km/h wind gust around 1:30pm. Wind damage and power outages reported.

For the first time in recorded history, the Niño 3.4 sea-surface temperature (SST) is above 30.0°C, reaching a preliminary SST of 30.06°C on October 5th.
The Niño 3.4 SST anomaly is now 3.41°C above the 1991-2020 baseline.

IW StormRisk is showing a 51% tornado risk right now and this storm is moving into an even stronger environment.
PLEASE if you are around the Lake Huron shoreline from Goderich to Grand Bend, you need to be preparing right now to seek shelter.
There’s still time until it makes landfall, but this will likely be a very dangerous storm for the Lake Huron shoreline. Now is the time to get ready.

Well – this might be a first!
There are zero wildfires burning in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. This is the first time we have recorded a wildfire-free day in August in at least ten years.
Be sure to check the Alberta Wildfire dashboard for any active wildfires.

The search for the overdue aircraft has concluded. It was found on Wolf Lake, in Queens Elizabeth II Provincial Park. The case is now with @OPP as a missing person’s case. Although not the outcome we wanted, we hope the efforts of all #SAR units will aid the continued search.
Tornado *Watch*
This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Environment Canada has Tornado Advisory.
This alert is in effect for east-central Alberta, between approximately Cold Lake, Lloydminster, Vegreville and Smoky Lake/Whitefish Lake (see attached map).
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce a tornado.
Funnel clouds in this area have been reported to be very close to the ground. It is possible that funnel clouds may touch the ground and become a brief landspout tornado.
The risk of landspout tornadoes will last until early this evening.
In the event of a tornado, or if a tornado warning is issued for your area:
Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet.
Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can.
As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.

The NTP has already confirmed this tornado and it's rating will be established after a damage survey is completed.
