ALT Tropical Storm Isaias strengthened as it moved east-northeast across the southwestern Gulf overnight. Changes: Increased speed at landfall, slight eastward shift in the track, intensity at landfall increased. Isaias is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane and turn north, making landfall somewhere along the northern Gulf Coast late this week. **It is looking more likely that Isaias will be a SIGNIFICANT hurricane when it reaches the coast**. Increasing concern for significant impacts to the local area including high winds, high surf, rip currents, storm surge, flash flooding, and tornadoes. Regardless of the strength at landfall, heavy rainfall remains a concern, especially along the coast after last weekend’s heavy rainfall/flash flooding.
