Best @pepsi for the best concert ever….🫶🏻

Jennifer Saunders just casually dropped one of the most savage “I was there before they blew up” stories ever. Her and Dawn French are sitting in a restaurant in Barnes. Recording studio right opposite. Five little girls with braided hair bounce in, still jumping around, and come straight over: “Oh my god, French & Saunders… we’re over there recording. We’re gonna be the next big girl group.” Jennifer’s reaction? “We went… please.” Then she hits them with the full sarcastic treatment: “Of course you are, of course you are… what are you called, the Spice Girls? Of course you are, you’re gonna be huge.” Months later they’re everywhere on TV and she’s just sitting there going “oh… duh.” The way she tells it, the deadpan delivery, the regret that isn’t really regret pure comedy gold. Watch the full clip, the couch is dying.

Today, we continue our cooperation with Finland – and very substantively. We are working comprehensively with the Government of Finland – with Prime Minister @PetteriOrpo. Thank you for this cooperation and for this level of relations between our countries. We have a new support package for Ukraine from Finland – and, in addition, agreements that expand our opportunities for cooperation. Seven documents have been signed – the total value of today's agreements is €300 million. We agreed to make greater use of Finland's satellite capabilities – this is important for our defense and Ukraine's resilience. We reached agreements on this with Nokia and ICEYE. Thank you for your readiness to support our logistics and energy sector – these are Russia's key targets right now. And having more locomotives, more energy equipment, and more funding to protect energy infrastructure will really help.

The Japanese zoo brought the panda's favorite red leaves to its enclosure to lift its spirits. It's really impressive to see the panda's joy after this gift.

Jamie Lee Curtis says the take The Bear used for her dinner table scene came right after Ayo Edebiri whispered one word in her ear: purple "I hate if somebody yells in front of the crew a direction to me." "Ayo walked up to me, whispered in my ear, purple." "All of what's happening to Donna in that scene is pain, not anger." "The wound is purple. A bruise is purple." She had just played the scene twice at full blast, and one color moved her from rage to hurt. A shouted note across the set would have embarrassed her, while a quiet word in her ear got the take they kept. How you give a note matters as much as the note. ft: @questlove Questlove Show on youtube

Now I'm no expert here, but it seems rather counterproductive to vote for a party who is against voting....I'm just saying.

People often wonder why more good people don’t go into politics. Well, in large part, it’s because of things like what Vivek Ramaswamy did to his opponent Amy Acton. Ads like the one he put out are simply disgusting. They are examples of gutter politics, of trying to paint opponents in the most degrading light. The ad that he and his campaign produced, endorsed, and are standing behind tells you everything about his character, or lack thereof. It tells you how low he will go. It tells you all you need to know about the kind of politician he is. I do not use the word leader because this is not the behavior of a leader. We in this country have the opportunity in these midterm elections to elect leaders of character, of compassion, of integrity. Who treat their opponents with respect, with regard for them their history, for their families. The good people of Ohio know gutter politics when they see it. The people of this country are going to throw men like this to the curb where they belong. May they can sit there and reflect on their behavior. They definitely shouldn’t be sitting behind a desk in a state capital or in our nation’s capital. End of story

That could be bad news for Dems in a year when the Senate is decided by red states. If polling errors follow the average historic trend, Democrats' leads in Texas and Alaska could be wiped out while Iowa and Kansas move firmly into the Republican column economist.com/graphic-detail…

Yesterday, I had posted a NYT article, which is down my feed a few stories, about how after a record hot summer, people in Oklahoma cannot afford their electric bills and faced dire circumstances. The price hikes had been in part caused by data centers. I ended up tracking down the reporter who wrote the story to ask if I could help one of the families he highlighted, and he shared that others had done the same and they had therefore started a GoFundMe page. By the time I got there, the mother had raised a big sum and also asked for help with her daughter who had the same issue, young children, and two ill dogs that she could not afford to treat. I donated to her since she had less money and she sent this update today. It made my heart sing, but it also made me painfully aware of how many Americans are scared, desperate, and suffering right now. I was going to ask folks to post as a comment any local churches or other charities in Oklahoma or elsewhere that help people who are desperate to pay their electric bills. If you have seen anything or know of anything, please post it as a comment. I also have asked the reporter in the story if he had any suggestions. Thank you 🙏🏽

In 1961, Michael Rockefeller, son of then-New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller, went missing during an expedition in the Asmat region of southwestern New Guinea. Fascinated by indigenous art and cultures, he had traveled there to meet local communities and gather pieces for the primitive art collection at the Museum of Primitive Art in New York. On November 19, after the boat in which he was traveling with Dutch anthropologist René Wassing capsized, Michael decided to swim toward the shore in search of help. Wassing was rescued, but Michael was never seen again. His disappearance triggered an intensive search that failed to shed light on his fate. Over the years, various theories have emerged: some believe he died from drowning or exhaustion, while other accounts suggest he may have been killed by members of the Asmat community in an act of retaliation. However, his fate has never been officially confirmed, and his remains were never identified. The photograph continues to evoke one of the great mysteries in the history of 20th-century expeditions.
