As I mentioned earlier, I had a meeting with an @afternic account rep earlier today. Got some valuable tips and thought I'd share three of them here. 1) In his opinion, any domain priced above 10k should be set on "request price" and not have a set price. That way it always goes through brokers. His point was a 25k domain could scare away a 10-15k buyer. When you might be willing to talk to a 10-15k buyer! 2) Their Lease to Own commissions come DOWN the longer the months/terms. I didn't know this. All of mine were set to 12 months max. Well, at 13, 25 and 37 months the Afternic commission is lowered. At 37 months -> there is no commission to the seller. The buyer gets a fee. I'm going to set all of mine to like 48 months going forward. (leaving a little wiggle room to negotiate to 60 if needed) 3) I use custom landers. On those, I like to have a button "Buy on Afternic" that goes directly to that landing page. Well, according to him... 60% of their domain sales come from GoDaddy still. And 30% come from Afternic. So we discussed I may be losing people by not ALSO including a "Buy on GoaDaddy" button linking to the specific domain deep search. I know, not like any ground breaking tips here. But it's always nice for a 3rd party to look deeper at what you are doing and give some feedback.
