We will never know the exact cost coz the BBC also aren't transparent, but that's a costly 12 points lol Regardless if they get good viewership - it's still brand damaging for the BBC's ability on the world stage & the UK's image.

They should let the winner of eurovision asia be a wild card entrant at Eurovision each year as part of a prize if they wish to do it. imagine the extra viewership & streams potential.

Can we pls stop this pointless 1980s olympics nonsense & bring back yearly logos, slogans, properly integrated themes across all show elements + in show outdoor content inc crowd shots & intervals so we can see where we are... it doesn't have to be as SLOP as it all currently is!

sure, people are boycotting - but i do think years of dead on arrival songs & 0s is starting to take it's toll, too. It's brand damaging! 4 Jeminis in 6 years... Radio silence on change from the BBC as usual isn't acceptable - the broadcaster lacks transparency & accountability🤷🏻‍♂️

A total of 5.24 million viewers in UK watched the Eurovision 2026 grand final, the lowest figure ever for a Eurovision final on British TV. Down 25% from last year and almost half of viewership lost from 2023 when BBC hosted the contest in Liverpool. Very depressing stats.

Agree. Was never a fan of when UK national finals used random celebs as an expert panel like it was X Factor...i'd rather hear from likes of @Cherylbaker who has been a champion of Eurovision in UK for decades & always grateful...her analysis is regularly correct compared to BBC.

Fun fact: UK national final that year got 7.22MILLION viewers. BBC really did fumble the bag with our decades old national selection when they axed it... sure, bad time slots, bad formats & bad songs chipped away at it, but a 6y break destoryed the tradition & viewing figures

this is DIRE! since 2000, France, Germany and Spain have all had SEVEN top 10 finishes and Italy has THIRTEEN! Italy only rejoined in 2011. UK has only THREE since 2000. the BBC need to pull their shit together 🫣

I don't think @bbceurovision need to be like a Swedish Tv show or even try to be Eurovision... They just need to be cool, credible & current but most importantly, British! The millennium bug seemed to kill the BBC Eurovision team because they need to look back to move forward👇

It wasn't trying to be Eurovision... it was just a diverse representation of the british music scene at that moment in time. Trying to current, cool & relevant. The starting point is literally that & then everything else you need for esc success. Stop trying to write slop for ESC
