Consultation fee: fee paid to speak with a lawyer and get legal opinion/advice. Appearance fee: fee paid to have a lawyer show up in court for you. Retainership: fee paid to a lawyer so he can always be on stand by for you. Once you pay this, you can call that lawyer in the night and he'd show up for you. (It's this fee that can make you say boldly "I HAVE A LAWYER" Don't mix them up

Imagine having your Safaricom line suspended for simply receiving payments for goods and services rendered. This is the story of my employee, Mercy, whose M-Pesa services remain suspended despite visiting the Safaricom shop in Migori yesterday. 🧵 @Safaricom_Care @SafaricomPLC

@SafaricomPLC, how is this acceptable? Why assure a customer that their services will be restored and then fail to honour that commitment? Please urgently resolve ticket SR-46 and restore Mercy's M-Pesa services before her graduation. She deserves better customer service.

What makes this situation even more painful is that the money was meant to facilitate Mercy's graduation tomorrow at Karatina. An occasion that should be filled with joy is now overshadowed by an unresolved M-Pesa suspension. Why the delay?

Still no club statement from Manchester United?

It will cost Kenya roughly 800m to bring Bayern Munich and 732m for Ajax in appearance fees. If you include logistics and facilitation, the total cost sits around a cool 2 billion.

All I’m waiting for now is an official statement from Manchester United confirming that Michael has been sacked with immediate effect.

Kenya’s security system has failed miserably. How can Mackenzi murder over 400 people for years without the police or intelligence agencies detecting or stopping them? What is the purpose of our security apparatus if it cannot protect innocent lives?

Since independence, no other Kenyan president has presided over the prosecution of bloggers for expressing themselves online quite like William Ruto. His administration raises serious concerns about freedom of expression and the growing crackdown on digital dissent.

When governments want to exploit their citizens, they can manufacture fear by declaring an “epidemic” like Ebola. Public health must never be weaponized to justify corruption, restrictions, or theft from the people. Citizens deserve truth, transparency, and accountability.

Why do judges fear police officers? Last time, Masengeli was abandoned. Today, IG Kanja has been abandoned. If I were the judge in both matters, they would be in prison by now. Court orders must be obeyed, regardless of one’s position. No one is above the law.

If the registration number of the car used to abduct a Standard Group editor was changed twice on the NTSA portal, it raises serious questions about the level of protection and influence enjoyed by those involved. How untouchable are these individuals?

I’m being told there is a very low turnout at the Recho Ruto church service in Lolgorian. It is alleged that police have now decided to arrest people in Lolgorian Town and force them to attend the service.

Update guys: On Saturday, 22 August, the police never showed up to collect the usual bribes. Freedom is here with us. 🇰🇪✊
My manager has been paying Ksh 200 in bribes to the police at my betting shop every Wednesday and Saturday without my knowledge. When I discovered this, I made it clear that I could not continue paying Ksh 110,000 for a licence while also being expected to pay bribes.
