VESTIGE I 🏁
Growing up with JRPGs, I've always loved their fantastical worlds and over-the-top visual effects.
Been experimenting bringing moments of that into algorithmic reconstruction and distortion, letting familiar forms dissolve into something entirely different.

The system is active, and is failing at perfect preservation...
By the time you got here, you'd have to decide what you want to keep and let go the rest.

We are obsessed with hoarding digital data, yet we remember less than ever.
I spent the past few months building a 24/7 live generative system that is deliberately designed to forget.
Meet "By the Time You Got Here"—an architecture of erasure. 🧵

We crunched the numbers, foundation made over $28M in revenue
Just so you get an idea, at sealed maintaining ipfs costs only $20/mo
Yet they're gonna walk away and break the ipfs images of all NFTs made there
NICE

Good morning. With all due respect, calling today’s Medici Minutes a “newsletter for artists” feels a bit like selling fast food as molecular cuisine. Let’s be honest: this isn’t guidance for creators it’s a playbook for NFT market participants looking to optimize returns. And that would be perfectly fine, if only it weren’t dressed up as artistic wisdom. What strikes me most today is the paternalistic tone: “artists should focus on a series.” As if artistic practice were a production line, and the artist’s role was to manufacture thirty nearly identical images in different colorways. That’s not artistic advice. That’s a marketing strategy. And it should be named as such, rather than presented as some profound insight into the creative process. But the real slap in the face is the comparison to Monet. Monet didn’t paint series to “strengthen the collection” or “build market recognizability.” He painted them because he was obsessed with light, time, and the fleeting nature of perception. His work was an exploration of seeing not a roadmap for sales optimization. Comparing generative NFT sets to the Rouen Cathedral series is like comparing wine tasting to sampling energy drinks. If someone wants to teach people how to make money in NFTs, that’s their prerogative. But telling artists what they should focus on…and framing it as artistic development, is something else entirely. Art begins where calculation ends. And what I read in today’s Medici Minutes isn’t a conversation about art. It’s a conversation about product. And I genuinely hope next week’s Medici Minutes won’t shake me up this much. I usually read it with real interest, but today it definitely sent my blood pressure soaring😉 Where is my coffee?

Am I alive or thoughts that drift away?
Does summer come for everyone?
Can humans do as prophets say?
If I die before I learn to speak….
Can money pay for all the days
I lived awake But half asleep?

Naw.
NFT Twitter was a Wild West of scammers, enthusiasts, investors, normies, artists, and collectors having an unorganized and high energy party with COVID money.
6529 is more like the church of Scientology or an Italian crime family.
Far more like Scientology, if I think about it.
It’s a structured wealth transfer machine, where the members are brainwashed to become fiercely loyal to the group, and act as both recruitment and enforcers. 6529 and scientology were both created from the depraved minds of people with good writing skills and even better social manipulation skills for the purpose of power and financial enrichment.
Everybody on the outside laughs at those inside, but those inside think the cult is the most amazing thing ever. They also both think they are categorically superior to those on the outside.
6529 and Scientology members both appear to give up their unique individuality and beauty in favor of the comfort that comes from being a conforming member of the group.
They all tend to act the same, say the same things, and mostly exist in an echo chamber that is annoying and tiresome to everyone outside of it.
They both have ridiculous catch phrases and linguistic terms, scammy ranking systems, and they both originate as works of fiction.
The creators of 6529 and Scientology use fraud, manipulation, and coercion to attract desperate and insecure people.
They both have ecosystems that ostracize and extract to establish a slave like obedience, where the fear of leaving and being outcast is far worse than a sheep getting constantly milked and sheared.

Trump said we had to attack Iran because we can‘t allow it “to have a nuclear weapon.” Really?
This is the same president who, in June, said: “Iran’s nuclear facilities have been obliterated.”
Vietnam. Iraq. Iran. Another lie. Another war.

Do any Americans know the US overthrew Iran’s democratically elected PM in 1953? Does anyone know the US shot down an Iranian passenger plane murdering 300 civilians in 1988? Can they define sanctions? Do they even know people in other countries have thoughts, dreams, and lives?

Bombing Iran in the middle of negotiations, while starving Cuba, while genociding Palestinians, while threatening to invade Greenland… the US and Israel are the single greatest threat to humanity and it’s not even close. We are all forced to live in the nightmare they create.
